Firmware is latest.

Router is DHCP client

I tried both automatic and static IP, no change.

TV doesn't have a light. Router shows light.

Tried using one that works, no difference.

I'll have to check if I have a disconnected switch. So I'll come back with another post if I do.

I can't find anything for factory reset, only reset colours.

Try this:

I think the first sequence in the video is what you want. With the screen off, I tried pressing Mute-1-8-2-Power and the Service Menu came up that had a factory reset option. I then pressed Mute-Mute-Power to exit the service menu. Try this at your own risk, I didn't actually perform the reset. I have a UN55C6300. Also, I know its not ideal, but if the Ethernet jack is dead, the WiFi adapter is pretty good if that's an option for you. That's all I use and I haven't ever had a problem, Amazon Prime movies in HD are great. Might be better to spend a few bucks on one of those instead of a new TV. Good luck.

Hey guys, I'm new to the boards, but I wanted to get some opinions. I currently have a 60' Vizio E601i-A3 and just got an opportunity to buy a 3 year old Samsung C6300sf for $500. Is it worth the money for the upgrade, or should I pass? Thanks.

Do I have to use the Samsung Wireless Link?

The Samsung Wireless Link (WIS09ABGN, WIS09AGBN2, WIS10ABGN) recommended for my TV (UN55C6400RF) appears to be a USB wireless stick.

Do I have to buy the Recommended Samsung stick or can I use any USB wireless stick?

I may be going against the grain but I recommend that you get a Chromecast, Fire TV, Roku, etc. instead of a USB to Ethernet stick. AFAIK, Samsung stopped updating the built-in apps long ago. The Netflix and Amazon apps may still work, but in my experience, they never worked well and were klunky.

You do not have to use the Samsung stick, other brands will work. I agree totally to what Steven Lin has posted as the 'built in' apps on my 6400 are not much to write home about AND klunky! Besides the other streaming devices that Steven listed, you can also buy Blu Ray players with streaming apps.

The TV is a friends. They are in their 70's and not too savvy if you know what I mean. They would have issues selecting inputs - in fact, going from cable to apps will be a challenge for them.

Sorry to hear the Samsung apps are so poor - you'd think otherwise given their phone and tab mastery.

Myself, I'm already on my 2nd BD player simply for the apps - I'm a Netflix junkie - and I've had a load of issues with the Black Friday Hisense 4k 55in - all audio (do a search on LOOM [Left Output Over Modulated] - an anachronism I coined [haha]).
