I wanted to chime in on the issues. I just got a LN40C530. My panel is a CN03. Manuf: May 2010. Fair enough, this is only the second day i have owned the tv. my thoughts so far are great.
i turned off the eco setting and dynamic contrast for my bluray player. Now. i have tried an xbox 360 directly connected via HDMI and i have noticed NO motion blur, no ghosting, no issues. I have not heard any buzzing at all. I think the quality is outstanding. I have adjusted all the picture settings. it is set to standard, but i have adjusted the color, contact, brightness, etc...
i got a great deal at my local BB. open box unit that was on display. (on display for 1 day) it was $599. was going to get the sony 40EX400, but saw them both and thought this was a better quality picture. I will not comment on audio for this tv because anything i listen to for the bluray or xbox, will be played though my AVR. i agree with an earlier post where one setting is not going to cut it for audio. you will be friends with that audio adjustmen button.

I was happy for the PIP, but not a requirement. in all, i like the TV. time will tell, but i have a good feeling.

Is there a real difference in quality between the 5xx and 6xx models? Do the 6xx models get higher quality panels or does the panel lottery affect all models?

I want a 46" and the price difference between the 530 and 630 is more than $100. I don't need the DLNA since I'll be using a great HTPC with it. I'm not too sure about the difference between the 60hz and 120hz refresh.

So, I own an LN32C540, purchased from Futureshop in Canada. I'm liking it so far. A003 panel. Can't find any threads anywhere from other owners of a C540. Feature spec seems to place it somewhere between the C530 and C550. Has anyone heard of it? As it seems to be a Canadian Futureshop exclusive, and probably won't be widely supported, I was wondering if anyone knew of its closest brother, so I can keep an eye out for firmware updates / general discussion etc.

The LN32C540 is not just canadian, I picked one up at CostCo in the US for $387 open box, today. So far i'm happy with the picture and sound. Now if I could only find some base calibration settings for it.

I got an LN40C530 with an SQ06 panel about a month ago. The factory settings on this set are quite poor, but my panel has decent viewing angles and blacks.

Here are my settings, after two weeks of tinkering with several blu-rays and calibration disks, as well as Xbox 360 games (to check shadow detail and input lag). I also compared my results visually with Best Buy's calibration demo. They seem to be fairly close.

Mode: Movie
Backlight: 7
Contrast: 85
Brightness: 61
Sharpness: 0
Color: 52
Tint: 47/53

Eco Solution: Off

Advanced Settings
Black Tone: Off
Dynamics Contrast: Off
Shadow Detail: 0
Gamma: 0
RGB Mode: Off
Color Space: Auto
Flesh Tine: 0
Edge Enhancement: Off

White Balance
R-Off: 28
G-Off: 24
B-Off: 14
R-Gain: 28
G-Gain: 25
B-Gain: 15

Picture options
Color tone: Normal
Size: 16:9
Filters: Off
HDMI black level: Low

The main flaw I can find with these settings are that my black level isn't as deep as it could be. Shadow detail and color seem excellent, however.

Let me know what you guys think.

I purchased a LN32C550 from amazon a few weeks ago. Really didn't need the new tv, but the deal was too good to pass up. I got the tv and a new tivo premiere for $539. Mine has the AA panel. Looks great. The usb media player works great (since I only use mp4 and .avi files now this is great!). No buzzing. OTA hd looks great. I couldn't have asked for a better tv for the bedroom. And I got a new tivo for the living room for free.

I've a strange interaction between my PVR and my TV. When connected by HDMI, they someone interact.

1. I cannot turn off the PVR is the TV is off and even sometimes when it is on.

2. The PVR frequently goes into boot, usually about 2-3 min later, when I turn off the TV. Sometimes, the PVR just goes to boot for no apparent reason

3. The PVR clock seconds dots don't blink although the clock keeps time.

It is not the cable or the particular HDMI TV input. It does not happen with a composite connections. It is not the PVR, I've swapped it out twice for new ones.

Any ideas?

Anyone wanna throw up some screenshots? I just got the 32c530, noticing some lag on MW2, but not on any other games which is somewhat odd. Been playing some .MKV files through my laptop connected to the tv w/ VGA cuz I had some issues with the USB input only able to play certain .MKV files, anyone know what's up with that? Also, used a mix of y'alls calibrations and it helped immensely with the ghosting/lag. Kind of curious as to how y'alls sets are looking compared to mine though so throw up some screens!

just wanted to give an update on my ln40c530.
almost a month and No problems. again, no motion lag, not wierd noises, etc...
I will go out on a limb and say i love this tv. I did get the extended warrenty from BB for 4 years. so no matter what, this will be covered. I dont usually get warrantys, but i felt this one time wont hurt.
I am going to use the AVCHD 709 disc tonight to calibrate it better. i have a habit of using a movie for calibrations. i used Transfomers 2. i have a feeling i will be twwking the bightness a bit.

i will post my setting when i can. it may just help some of you out there.

TheKrayze, any news on the results you got when you used the AVCHD 709 disc? The settings I'm using now for my LN40C550 are pretty good but a little tweaking probably wouldn't hurt.

I just bought the 32" 530 and have had a few problems getting the picture settings just right. I have used DVE DVD to initially set it up but I think it is still off. Does anyone know what the picture settings should be? Especially for watching sports.

Just purchased an LN32C550 on Amazon and it should be coming in tomorrow. I plan on trying to use it on my network to stream videos using the wired ethernet jack but does anyone know if the wireless Link Stick (WIS09ABGN)will work for network connectivity? I'd rather have wireless then wired because of my setup. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello.
Can anyone please do some input lag testing?

Because supposedly the C530 have only 14ms of lag in game mode according to this test:
http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/samsu...0100813815.htm

Considering that this year's Samsungs aren't particularly known for low lag this sounds very good but kind of unlikely. Can anyone perform a test, please?
I'd be especially grateful for tests of a bigger set.

I guess that's a UK model in that article. As near as I can tell, the US models do not have a Game mode. (Lame or otherwise)

I don't have a C530, but I do have a C550. I can give you the unscientific lag assessment of my teenage sons:

They say lack of game mode on the C550 does not to make a difference, when compared to our A750 with Game Mode turned on.

I guess the A750 normally does so much processing compared to the 550, that a game mode is needed.

If you are concerned about lag and already own the set, take it out of dynamic mode and turn off edge enhancement, noise reduction, dynamic contrast, etc. Any processing you can eliminate should help.

Go into settings: setup: general, then you should see game mode.

Hawkijustin is right, there is a game mode in the General menu.

Can't give you a test result because my laptop does not have HDMI out. (If it is like other Samsung sets, VGA connection has almost no processing and won't represent what you get with component or HDMI.)

My guess is VGA will be best, HDMI1 in "DVI PC" mode will be second best, and any other input on game mode will come in 3rd. These are just guesses based on other Samsung TV's -- hit the links above.

Hi Guys, I have a new 46" LN46C650 that we want to find a low profile mount for. I have an idea of the things I need for the TV but wanted a sanity check from the experts in this forum. Thanks in advance!
Is this mount ok?
http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

Also I am going to be putting the cable box and bluray in a kitchen cabinet and am in need of an IR kit to send the signal to the boxes in the other room. What do you guys recommend?
Is this ok?
http://www.amazon.com/IR-Repeater-Sy.../dp/B0016PM63W

Lastly, What is the HDMI cables you use to run from the TV to the boxes? Monoprice has so many options. I guess I want the best cable as I will probably need to run 25-50' of cable.
Is this the right cable to get?

I recently purchased a LN40C530 and am having issues with the picture or parts of the picture temporarily freezing (under 1 sec.). We are running 1080 through HDMI from our cable box. I search around the forum a bit but did not find anyone discussing this particular issue. Any ideas? Our old TV was 720 running component and we never saw this issue. Any chance we do not have enough signal coming into the box? We get it both for live stuff and for DVR. TV will have to go back if I cannot figure out. Thanks for any suggestions!

Even though you did not have this problem with your old TV, it sounds like an issue with cable reception to me. Is it the same cable box as before? What is the operator/model?

Hi

Could someone tell me where exactly is panel sticker (LE32C530 or LE40C530)? Is it on the back of TV ? I called to the store and they could not find any information about panel type on the sticker located on the back of TV. Im going to buy probably LE40C530, but i need to be sure what panel is in the model I'm buying.

PS. Sorry for my english ;P

Hello, new member here.
Is LNxxC530 the same as LExxC530? I'm kinda stuck in the nomenclature of flatpanels.

Hi there, me too :P

Essentially same TV.
The difference between the LN and LE in the model code is:
E - Europe
N - North America, Korea, South America

Cool, thanks for the reply. I expect to recieve my LE32C530 tomorrow, will post my experiences with it here. Since it's the first time I'm buying a non-CRT, it will probably be a newbie review
