I just picked up a new Samsung BD-C7900 Blu Ray player. I hooked it up to my wired network and the test confirms it can access the Internet. It even automatically updated the firmware from Samsung.

So I tried the PC Shareware Manager, and again nothing shows up to accept. I am getting a second Samsung TV next week and will try again.

I did buy a 16 gig Ultra High Speed (200x read speed) USB drive from Patriot. It had to be reformatted to accept very large files files. (They tell you on their web site how to do it.) So I just copy as much music or media files as I like and it plays perfectly on the TV through the USB port.

His desktop pc is running Vista 32bit and doesnt see the TV. I used my two other laptops both running XP. One of which was directly connected to the network. Still could not see the TV. The router can see the wireless adapter on the TV and the TV can access the internet applications like netflix, etc. I even tried switching usb ports on the TV as well as uninstalled and reinstalled the software on Vista. nothing successful.....so far.

I'm running on Window 7 64 bit as well. Well, if you want we can setup a time using www.skyfex.com to see if we can troubleshoot the issue.

I got a second Samsung BD player for my office where my computer is located. I plugged the Network cable from the C6900 BD player into a switch that also has the network connection from my computer. I opened Samsung PC Share Manager and it found the C6900. It allowed me to share everything on my PC. Perfect, that's what I want. Now why can't it find the other TV or other BD player located elsewhere on the Network?

Not sure why samsung doesn't say this works with Win7. I've got it working fine...

OS is Win7x64
Latest version (4.52?) of Samsung PC Share Manager as of today's date

Installed per normal. After install, in admin account, I set the properties of the shortcut on the "compatibility" tab to run in compatibility mode for WinXPsp3 and set its privilege level to administrator. Then ran it...

At first TV wasn't in the list of devices to approve so I went and turned it on (doh!)... I set up the paths and started to refresh the DB. At some point my firewall (mcafee) told me that wiselink (or similar name) wanted to accept connections and I auth'd that. Then the TV was in the list and I allowed it access to PCSM... Nothing worked on the TV, saw all the paths and files but everything resulted in "file format not supported" errors on the TV. So I went back to the PC and there's another firewall message saying another application wanted to listen to incoming connections. I authorized that one. Now the TV works fine streaming via Samsung's DLNA server.

Wanted to post a follow up to the thread for anyone looking into it through Google like I did. It works fine.

Hello. What type movie files can you play using the Samsung PC Share Manager? And how does it work.

I have been trying to play xvid, x264, and mkv from my PC to my Xbox using Media Center and TVersity. It has been nothing but problems with stuttering, and momentary stopping.

Then I just tried Samsungs PC Share manager and I've been able to watch two movies with no problems at all, one a x264 and the other an mkv. How is this possible? I am using Windows 7 FYI

Ok, so all of the .mkv files I've watched have worked great. But now I've got one .mkv that says "Not Supported Video Codec" by PC Share, that is the notice that pops up on the screen. I can watch it using Windows Media Player (I do have the K-Lite Codec Pack installed) on my PC but not through PC Share Manager and the TV. Any ideas? Why would other .mkv files play but this one come back with this message?

Edit: that one mkv was the only one I've had problems with, so maybe it was bad. I've probably watched well over 75 others with no problem.

I have win 7 - 32bit, ive had pc share manager on it for last 6 months with no problems, then one day i started to get a stop error in japanese! it comes up when i open it, and keep hitting ok then the program closes, ive tried removing and reinstalling and rebooting. no go. The "helpdesk" at samsung were unhelpful and they told me to use WMP, with again was unhelpful.

Where can I get version 4.52 from? I have a D8000, and it is not showing up in sharemanager as a connected device.

Bump!

I need a direct link to version 4.xx. The Samsung website is almost as inane as their software.

I thought that 4.2 was the latest. That is what I have. A quick google brought this link up:

I have a LN46C750 and I had DLNA/UPnP working on my TV till a couple days back, but all of a sudden, the TV doesn't show up either in media streaming options or in PC share manager (blank list).
I am streaming from Windows 7 64-bit and the media streams show up fine on other devices but just not on the TV.

The TV is connected to my network properly and is also able to get to the Internet (can stream Netflix, Youtube, etc.)

I had a couple chat sessions with Samsung support but after reinstalling PC share manager it still doesn't work.

This is frustrating.
I hope someone here can help me.

Thanks!
