Black friday will be the warm up factor on how deep the prices will dive and see how christmas is going to be. Should definitely be a buyers market.

Perhaps, but you'll have missed the world series and an incredible few months of entertainment.

Anyone Register yet?. I'm getting emails from Sony about saving 30 % on extended service plans. They want 379.00 for the 5 yr. I wanted 30% off that. First I was told the email was sent in error. Next I was told that the 379.00 WAS w/ 30% off and the reason for the emails is to remind me the open-enrollment ends in 60 days. They like selling those warranties. They pay one price to their subcontractors wether they sell 100 warranties, or 100,000.00 so each warrany sale means $$$

I chose to get the 55". Larger, cheaper, and relatively close to hx909 PQ. I do believe the nx810 has less crosstalk though...

Well said, I hope that ends it .. now.. about those HDMI cables and "the stand"..Wonder if there is a non-sony maker of these types of stands for like 50 bucks. 300.00 for lousey stand that shoud come w/ the set is f'in insulting.

Lets also not forget your comment said two things. "its 52 inches AND doesnt have the capabilities teh 810 has" yet the NX810 is the one equipped with far inferior hardware with everything from the type of LCD panel it uses and the backlight being incapable of even getting close to what the HX909 can reproduce.

I understand that size is more important for YOU than picture quality but thats not true for EVERYBODY and to say it doesnt have the same capabilities is absolute BS. Oh yeah, except it doesnt have built-in wifi, sorry i left that out.

No. I use a 19inch vizio TV(199.00) as a PC monitor using the HDMI port, it works great.

Hi Guys,
Looking for my first LCD / LED Screen and worked out that I want a 46 inch. Had settled on an NX 710 with a bonus playstation and entertainment pack with four movies and glasses. Then I read about the clouding problems of some other model Sonys.
Do the NX 710's have any of these issues.

Maybe this is the begining of the forcast price war!!
Was advertised in a catalogue that starts on Monday.

Luckydave.

Man I'm lovin this 810NX, it's such a pretty set. My only complaints so far is that the menus tend to lag sometimes. They did on my samsung as well but not as much. On the flip side the menu is much better than my samsung's

For some reason my VSX-1120 is failing to set the signal to digital when I switch sources from HDMI. My first receiver so I gotta figure out how to get this all to work right.

Sorry guys. It appears that I'veconfused the s___ out of everyone. My prices above are Australian dollars. Even thought its parity with yours it will take ages for the prices of tv's to come down. If it was to go up on the otherhand it would be almost instantaneous.

I think anandr is referring to the fact that the nx710 is sold in a 40" size whereas the nx810 is sold in 46" at the smallest.

I too was hoping to buy a 40" nx710 (gasp - so small!). But it doesn't seem to be available in the U.S. I see it on the Sony Cananda Website and Sony Asia but not Sony U.S. A couple people have unconfirmed reports about it being available at Costco but I'm almost sure they actually saw the NX700 or something else at Costco and not the NX710. Can't seem to find the NX710 at any retailers with Google either. Maybe it will come later.

I've thought about that. I got out the measuring tape the other day. I'm going to be using this as a computer monitor too so my eyes will be about 5 feet or less from the screen all the time. I'm not sure I can stand any more than 40".

... and it costs more.

Maybe next year the EX series will come in 40" size and have 3D built in and a matte screen with a very thin bezel. Price that under $900 and I'd be quite content. That would be the perfect TV/Monitor for me. Heck, I bet a lot of people would buy three of them to do Eyefinity or Nvidia 3D Vision Surround. It seems like its almost all figured out except for the lack of OLED and still needing glasses for 3D.

Maybe in 20 years we'll finally have the Unrollable 3D OLED Wraparound 60" screen for the price of a T-Shirt.

And in 40 years, everyone finally gets the Direct Brain Impant Holodeck Matrix Infinite 3D Immersive Reality Vision TV.

And then our heads explode... Ahhh. Can't wait.

Any idea if we will see the playstation bundle again on the 810 soon? I need to pick up a TV for the family room, but could hold off a week if needed.

You could try US-Appliance, they still had the PS3 bundle when I checked on Friday. You have to add the TV, PS3 and 3D bundle together in the cart to show the discount.

Price talk. Please read rules at top of forum in sticky thread area. Posts with non-MSRP pricing info or where-to-buy will be deleted or possibly edited. If you want something to stay around, don't talk about pricing. We're here for technical discussions.

Ok, there are numerous references to prices on this post, so maybe you should clean those up too.

no. but everyone seems to like that stand..should be free if ya asked me multi-thousand tv's with crappy speakers. next option their sound bar w/ subwoofer, the 370.470 or make your own which sort of defeats the purpose of a nice stand with nice sound, but 3 f'in hubdred buckss!!,, holy crap it should comw w/ the set!!..
