You'll likely enjoy it just as much as almost any other LCD. And if you're getting a good deal, it's a no-brainer

Of course, I got it modified with the TK-427, which cheeks it up another, maybe, 3 or 4 quads per channel.

I just bought the 46" NX710. I notice when I was viewing 3D blurry, if I shift my head from left to right, the image start to exhibit severe ghosting. Is this normal? Btw, I have the 3D emitter installed at the top frame of my tv.

Read this, especially the last bullet point: Sony KB article

Hello folks! I was hoping to get some feedback from you all about purchasing this.

I think i'm pretty dead set on buying the 46nx810. Amazon currently has it for $1299.99

The only thing that's keeping me from pulling the trigger is that costco has the 46nx711 with 3D kit included for $1199.99, which comes out to about $1360.00 after taxes.

I am only mildly interested in 3D for gaming, not necessarily for movies and/or tv programming. Still, for only roughly $61 more, I will have all the necessary 3D equipment to take advantage of 3D. In this regard, I'm having trouble justifying passing up on the nx711. In addition, I'll also have the peace of mind of costco's 90 day return policy as well as their 2-year warranty should I decide to keep it.

So I was hoping to get feedback from all of you on what I should do. Do any of you know enough about costco's nx711 model to justify picking that over the nx810? From what I have read, the two models are the same, except the nx810 is 240hz whereas the nx711 is 120 hz, so I'm assuming there should be little to no difference in picture quality correct?

Any suggestions/feedback is greatly appreciated!

Just picked up the 46NX711 (same deal PeeJ just mentioned above), havent opened it yet. Debating if I should return it for a Samsung since those new thin bezels are ridiculous. However, if this TV has good results as far as input lag goes then I'll probably just keep it. Anyone have input lag numbers on the NX710 or NX711?

I just got mine last week after debating between the NX810 and the NX711. I have to say that i'm thoroughly impressed. This has been the best LCD I have personally owned.

My suggestion is to open it up and check it out. You always have the peace of mind of being able to return it.

I also just picked up the SONY 46NX711 at Costco (as well as the 55HX800) last week. So far I'm very impressed, especially with 1080p output from my PS3 on my HX800. (Only discs I have so far are a Talking Heads concert and Mad Men, which looked great!) Haven't optimized the settings yet, that's why I visited AVSForum today for first time in about 4 years - I'll try out Omar's settings for the HX800 when I get home. Now looking to see if setting should be different for the NX711 - I'm guessing yes. Also haven't tried the 3D yet on either TV ... that will be the next thing on my list. Not sure how/where I get 3D content though.

So I agree with the other reply you received - stick with this TV - it seems great so far, and with Costco's return policy, you have nothing to lose.

I picked up the NX711 this weekend at Costco as well, but I haven't taken it out of the box yet. I originally went to pick up the D6050, but saw the last NX711 they had and it seemed like a pretty sweet deal--even though I really don't care about 3D.

Is the main difference between the 710 and the 810 the refresh rate? I can't really find any reviews on the 710 from any place reputable. It also seems that the NX711 is listed on the Sony site for many other countries (New Zealand, Latvia, Canada), but not the US. Is it only sold in the US through Sams Club or Costco?

This tv is just kind of a mystery to me and I'm trying to find out more about it. Any links or reputable reviews would be greatly appreciated.

The UK publication DigitalVersus published it's review of the EX710 (713 in UK) with very favorable results. It ended by saying:

Sony Bravia KDL-40EX713

"The Sony Bravia EX713 is an excellent TV. It boasts a refined design, reproduces colours accurately and displays HD video that's not far from perfect."

From what I have seen so far, the 810 is a higher end product.

The review of 710 and the 810 (813 in UK) can be found here:

I guess I'm part of the "I just bought the NX711 at Costco last weekend" crowd. I couldn't swing the 46" size in my cabinet and had to go for the 40" model. The 46" model was only $200 more, but alas.

Does anyone know if the included bracket mount that comes with the Sony HCT350 soundbar fits the NX711/710? The info sheet says that it works with the NX700.

I had the time to set up the NX711 from Costco last night after selling my old Sony SXRD 50A2020 (I got $400 for it in case anyone is wondering).

My initial impressions are very good. Compared to my SXRD the blacks of the NX711 are much better, the colors are more vibrant and the picture is just more crisp. I based my picture settings on the following link: THX certified calibrator on HX810

I found those settings to be very good for me--except for a little bit of a green tint which I'm still trying to tweak.

There is a very small amount of flashlighting in the lower right corner for my currently, but it is hardly noticeable and not a deal breaker for me (as I said, the blacks are much better on the NX711 than they were on my 50A2020). I knew getting into an edge-lit LED tv there was almost no chance for there not to be a little light leakage or flashlighting. And the only way I noticed that lower-right corner problem was after it was 10pm and all the lights were off in the living room, so it was a very dark room.

I was able to put the TV into game mode and play a little God of War III last night, which looked amazing compared to my old tv. I'm not an expert on input lag at all, but the game seemed very responsive.

I have not had a chance to test the 3d at all yet, but I'm hoping to try it out this weekend once I get the picture tweaked and figure out some more of the settings.

If I have HDMI input from BD player to this TV, can I plug the TV's TOSLINK output into a pre-HDMI, pre-Dolby Digital NAD pre-amp? Will the pre-amp get an audio signal that it can decode?

Thanks

I just picked up a 40NX711 last night. Everything else is good, but I'm getting horrible input lag. I have my laptop connected to HDMI-2 and Scene set to Game. Even in this mode, I'm seeing roughly 100ms of input lag.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there suppose to be that huge of a lag even in game mode? Can someone please verify this?

Just purchased the KDL NX711-40 at Costco yesterday, HD looks great IMO but STD video has artifacts, ordered some monster THX 1000 component cables and hopefully it'll eliminate it.

Got the set for $799 with free 3D glasses, seems like a good deal but i haven't tried the 3D yet, I see no ghosting or back light issues at all, coming from a Samsung and 3 panel replacements this is a joy so far .

I wanted the VIZIO KDL NX810 but it wasn't available, only online,Costco's additional year of warranty saved me from purchasing one from Square trade.

Let me know what I can expect from this set.

What's the difference between a $100.00 Monster cable and a $5.00 monoprice.com cable?

Answer = $95.00.

Please tell me if you see a difference.

I finally made it through the setup, and, over the next 3 days, it continued to shut off, then on at least 30 times. In addition, the clock needed to be reset each time it shut off, and occasionally the remote would not work. The green light would go off, then come back on again each time, with no other light colors nor any flashing. Sometimes the TV would go off and on 3-4 times before staying on.

I called Sony support and tried all sorts of things:

1. Bypassing the APC UPS.
2. Changing HDMI cables
3. Plugging in and unplugging components.
4. Unplugging the 3D bar.
5. Resetting the TV to factory specs.

All to no avail. I returned the set to SonyStyle on Oct 12, and received a new replacement Oct 21.

Upon setting-up the new TV, the same thing happened again. It shut off during setup numerous times, and once I finally got it setup, it started turning off and on again. I went through the same troubleshooting as above, but the problem continues.

I only have 2 components hooked-up to this TV:
1. DirecTV HR20-100 Satellite Box
2. Sony PS3 (slim)

The problem persists with either one or both connected to the TV. I am ready to return this 2nd set and request a refund. I am at my wits end over this and was wondering if anyone has any advice? The picture is awesome on this TV, but this intermittent off, on, off, on cycle is driving me nuts. I can't believe that 2 brand new TV's BOTH have the same problem.

Thanks in advance.

Has anyone else had this same issue? I read someone else here was having it, but has anyone found the solution to this problem? I bought a 40NX711 tv at costco and it kept happening to me. I only have my PS3 plugged in. I returned it and bought a 46NX810 since they don't have the 40" 711 anymore and it's happening to this one too. I couldn't get passed the initial setup screen without the tv rebooting over and over. It doesn't hold the time either as it keeps resetting.

Anyone? I would REALLY appreciate any help on this issue. I'd hate to return a tv back to costco for the third time in a month..

For future reference in case anyone comes across this: I was able to resolve (I think anyway) the issue. I have a D-Link DIR-655 Wireless N router and apparently having it in mixed b/g/n mode caused my tv to reboot constantly. Changing it to G only seems to have fixed it so far...

I don't have another N router (brand and whatnot) to test this but it kinda sucks not being able to use N mode without my tv going crazy.

Oh well.

Hello!
How many doubts! I really don't know what to do!
I own a Sony 46W4500 (…I'm very happy with it…) that I would sell to a friend for a good price.
So I’d like to buy a 46NX710 (…even if the clouding problem scares me a little) with a small difference of money, but I wouldn’t want to risk buying an already old TV, due to the release of the new NX720.
Of course, the NX720 costs much more!
I’d use it exclusively for playing offline games with the Xbox 360 and watching movies in 576/720/1080p through a multimedia player.
What do you think?
I accept tips…thanks!

If not, then I can always pick up the BDP-S780 BR player and add that feature in April.

Anyone know the final answer to this question?

Are they going to add the support for Skype to the Sony NX810 series?

I just don't need another blueray player, I've got three of the darned 760s as it is because they were giving them away with the TVs.
