The following settings were done with the Spears Munsil HD Benchmark Disc using a PS3 with the latest Firmware (4.81 and 3.5 on PS3). The calibration was done in the evening with no light source, complete dark. Assume that using these setting is for movie viewing only. I am going to just post what settings are relevant and/or turned on for the PS3 and LX900 after various toggling of options:
Video Settings>BD/DVD Video Output Format>Y PB/Cb Pr
Display Settings>RGB Full Range HDMI:Full
Display Settings>Y PB/Cb Pr
/Cr> Super White> On
XBR60 LX900 Settings all done under "Custom" not "Cinema" Scene Select set to "Auto"
Pictures & Display
Picture Adjustments>Setting Memory>Common
Picture Adjustments>Picture Mode>Custom
Color Temperature: Warm 2
Noise Reduction: Off
MPEG Noise Reduction: Off
Everything is Off and set to default EXCEPT
Adv. Contrast Enhancer: Low
I went back and forth on this adjusting brightness/picture to get the Dynamic Range Low pattern to show the bars, this was the best option without a professional calibration.
The display failed chroma multiburst and de-interlacing tests (likely PS3), and was very good with geometry.
Overall it did better than I expected. One thing I can't get over is daytime glare, it's bad. I plan on doing a daytime viewing mode in the near future.
