I been tweaking various settings and I REALLY like the picture after tweaking... I do need help with color temperature settings, for games and movies..
Does anyone have more proper settings than the default/s?
Well obviously there really is no proper setting for everyone, it all depends on your viewing environment and how your eyes perceive what you're seeing. With that said, I'll post mine for those interested. **They are different from the 423SV I had for 3 months and I've only had this 474 for 6 days so haven't had much time to tweak...yet My picture is a little cooler than most may like but it's what MY eyes prefer as I get older. Write your current settings down b4 you try mine so if you liked yours better you can revert back to them. Also, my room is almost pitch black 100% of the time so results will vary due to any ambient light in your viewing room.
Picture Mode: Movie
Color Temp: Custom
Red Gain: 117
Green Gain: 123
Blue Gain: 111
Red Offset: 119
Green Offset: 124
Blue Offset: 124
All are Set to OFF except...
Smooth Motion: Middle or High (still fiddling with)
Real Cinema: Smooth or High (still fiddling with)
Film Mode: Auto
Smart Dimming: On (obviously)
*The color gains and offsets are a work in progress.
If you have an Xbox 360, get on Live and download the Crysis 2 demo, I used that game to dial in some picture settings and wow, it looks awesome on this tv! The blacks are awesome and the colors are the best I've ever seen, period! Mass Effect 2 looks awesome as does any of the Gears of War and Call of Duties. If you don't have a 360, ignore all the above
