I recently bought LG's LD465 37" LCD TV

It seems it is a model for the East Europen market.

Full HD, USB enabled playback of DivX, MPEG1, 2, 3 & 4, MKV etc...
I really bought it because the USB playback ability.

I have 2 issues:

1) When watching DivX video. it slowly looses sync with audio over time.
If i stop (not pause) and resume playback - sync is back.

and

2) When watching MP4 videos, couple of minutes after the 2h mark
the video stops. Till then everything runs SUPER smooth - not a glitch or
sync issue...

It is not related with the time spent watching the video,
cause skipping near the 2h mark at the seek bar and playing from there
after some minutes past the 2h position it stops.

It is also not file size related. Same with 4-5Gig file and 1.4Gb file.

For the second issue i managed to cut losslessly a long video in
2 shorter and it works fine.
Still could not find an easy I-frame cutting app ... The app i managed to cut
succesfully does not work fine with other mp4 videos...

I tried to contact LG about the issue and no replay till now.

I hope there will be some firmware that addresses the issues.

Or there might be some tweak in the service menus?

Any suggestions?

Best

Igor

PS: No sync issues with MKV files.

Bump.

Got the same problem with my 37LE5300. Flawless subtitled playback of high definition H.264 content (.mp4), then, around 2h03 into the movie, the thing just stops. No use in trying to skip past that mark either.

I can't seem to locate the newest firmware though. Anyone care to tell me where I can find it, and if LGs can be upgraded by consumers?

My solution for now is by quickconverting the MP4 into MKV.

No more stopping.

I use FFMPEG, a free command line video tool to LOSSLESSLY convert/repack the MP4 video into MKV.
VERY fast - ~2 min for ~2h 720P ~800MB MP4 video.

Procedure:

* Get FFmpeg from http://www.ffmpeg.org/

* From the unpacked folder select and copy the file named ffmpeg.exe

* Paste into your folder where the video to convert is.

* Create new TXT document file and rename it MP4 to MKV.bat

In order to display and be able to rename the extension also,
you need to uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" in
Windows Explorer\Tools\Folder Options...\View\Advanced Settings (in WinXP)

* in your new opened txt document input this:
ffmpeg -i "filename.mp4" -vcodec copy -acodec copy "filename.mkv"

So if your video file is named Party.mp4, the line should be:

ffmpeg -i "Party.mp4" -vcodec copy -acodec copy "Party.mkv"

* Save you newly created batch file (Ctrl + S)

* In your folder with the movie double click at you newly created MP4 to MKV.bat file

* A command prompt window will appear while the program executes.

* When it closes by itself, the conversion is finished

* In you folder you will have your MKV file.
