Where do you find this info on that website? I did a few searches and don't see it. I'm only interested in finding out about code UF05.

Can anyone help me? I messed up in the service menu and changed the TYPE setting. The label says ue46es6100wxxn version 01. I removed the backcover where the label says LE460CSM-C1. Which type should i choose in service menu?

Another reason to stay out of the SM. If your pq or any of the controls you are supposed to have aren't affected, I'd just leave it.

Service Menu codes, for the most part, are set-specific. IOW, they are set at the factory based on the component tolerances, etc of the tv at time of qc. They can not be reset using the normal "reset tv" command. I'm not sure what the TYPE setting is related to. It could be just the panel but there may be other settings related to that panel which are specific. If you can find a service manual for your exact model, there may be instructions in there on what your TYPE is supposed to be and how to change it.

I purchased the UN40EH5000 on Black Friday weekend. Here's what I got from the service menu.

Version No: UF04
MFD: January 3, 2014
Type: 40A6AF1D

I was told by a Best Buy manager that Samsung doesn't make panels in the 46" model television. I don't think that's true, but I'm not an expert either so I'm open to the possibility I'm wrong.

BB is clueless. I wouldn't trust anything that a salesman has to say. Black Friday deals are always suspicious imo. If you like the pq then it doesn't matter who made the panel.

That's cool, and I would tend to agree, but I'd still like to know what I paid for. I deem that type of information important or I wouldn't be here in the first place.

Looks to me like Samsung made your panel, just Google:

Version No: UF04

and you will get details.

As Otto just said, it's all about how YOU LIKE IT. Settings can likely enhance your experience for you and enjoy your TV.

From what I've been able to determine, the price is not dependent on the panel, it's what ever they have in stock or have pre-ordered for production expectations.
