I'm trying to determine which television is better. I'm really interested in picture quality over some of the other specs but can I get some opinions on which is the better tv set? I'll be watching it from 8-12 ft.

(I'll tag onto this post, since it's pretty much my exact question)

I can't find the 3SV at any local stores. The LG 8500 is a nice-looking machine, though.

My big concern is that the TV will sit opposite a picture window. I don't watch much TV during the day, but football on Sundays is pretty critical.

Had anyone seen both of these and made a decision? Price online can be brought pretty close. Is there a build quality issue or any non-visual tangible I should be considering?

Thanks!

From 8-12 feet away, don't get anything less than 47" or you'll be extremely sorry. 55" would be ideal at that distance.

If you're sitting opposite a window, the 3SV is the far better choice since it has a semi-matte/diffused screen which negates reflections. To add, the 3SV is an amazing performer and its price makes it a tremendous value, thus its scarce supply.

Vizio XVT473SV: 47" FALD with 640 LED's and 160 Zones.

Seeking: 65"+ FALD UHD with 1,200+ LED's and 350+ Zones.
