I have a Samsung LN52B630 that's about 15 months old. The directional pad on the remote is quite useful because that's how you navigate the media player (USB hard drive) function. Lately the right arrow button on the remote's directional pad has gotten really hard to activate, you have to press it extremely hard and sometimes it doesnt work at all. The other buttons work fine. Is there anything that can be done to repair this? Will Samsung consider replacing it under warranty? Do I just need to buy a new one? The remote model is BN59-00853A.

Ofcourse change the batteries first. Clean the pad, look at the keys and see if anything is stuck in the pad, dust, whatever.

If that doesn't help, see if Samsung will replace it. If you register your tv at their site they extend the warranty 3 months, even now. That would put it under warranty.

If they won't replace it, ebay has many remotes available.

Thanks. I took the two screws out of the bottom but I couldn't get the dang thing apart to check or clean the inside. Is there a trick to it?
