The 55D7000 is on sears.com. Whether or not it can be actually bought I have no idea as I did not try. If it's not it won't be long till they have it in there warehouse and ready for orders. I want the 46D8000. That should be released in April but stores may take orders late March.

I would agree considering that Samsung debuted a 70" at Trade Shows late summer and fall and that seems more likely than a 75".

I believe the only reason they brought that 75" to CES was to counter their biggest rival in Korea, LG 72" - they go through these battles at every CES. Besides, the price would be beyond the reach of 99% of consumers when you factor in how overpriced their 65" C8000 is and add 10 inches to that mass and it may be at least a $10K MSRP. I'm not saying they couldn't do it because I own a 55" Samsung but it's built like a plastic toy that seems way over priced.

It's easy to be boastful at CES - if we recall 2010 most of the highly touted large LCD TV's got cancelled or delayed until 2011 and we're still waiting on them. Just where would they get this 75" glass - is anyone aware of any manufacturer capable to economically make such cuts? Where? If you cut the glass any other way the price then sky rockets as the waste gets factored in to the MSRP. My bet based upon history of Samsung/LG rivalry is that the 75" was nothing more than to counter LG's 72" at CES. I'll gladly eat crow if proven wrong.

Amazon is not a retail store like Sears and Best Buy, of course it will be cheaper. Alot of stores have high prices vs online stores. But stores can and usually give you something for free these days with higher end models vs the online stores which usually don't cause of there low price. That may or may not make a difference for people, just depends on the price and what the stores are offering. There's alot of good and bad from buying online than just the price.

I disagree, the reasons to not buy online are quickly evaporating. The biggest reason I see why people wouldn't want to buy online is instant gratification and if they think they are going to take the TV back. Those two things would make the process more difficult.

I agree, returns and wanting the TV now are the biggest deflects to people not wanting to buy online. There are other issues like some shady websites so always shop at trusted sites. The deals online for me make it worth buying there, I'm not opposed to shopping at best buy ether. Its sad but I would go to a best buy to see the TV n play with its features then go home and buy online for the better prices. I wonder how may other people have done that.

Your reasons just added ontop of mine of why poeple don't want to buy tvs online. Which is what I getting at. It's not simply about the price, if it was we all would buy online but that's just not the case. Alot of online retailers don't allow u to return merchandise to them but back to the manufacturer. Stores let you return within a specific timeframe. Yes things are going online more and more every year but alot of people just don't care to use online yet. In time online will be the main way to buy things.

Alot of people do that. It helps to know and see what your buying. There's nothing wrong with that.

Shady online companies, there are alot of them especially when looking to buy a tv and other big/popular items. That's a big problem with online.

What do you think the price for the un40d800 will be compared to the un40d6400? I know the un40d8000 is 240hz while the un40d6400 is 120hz, so would you be able to notice the difference while watching 3d content?

Agreed but also going and looking in the store is not worth a lot either. If the stores like best buy usually have the settings all cranked up and nowhere near the representation of how it will look at home. Its best to go somewhere smaller where you can actually tweak with the settings or look at the TV in an environment like your home. Personally I go more off of reviews and people on this forum who are knowledgeable and have see or have the TV. Most of the people that work in best buy dont know anything and will just pimp out whatever they are told to pimp.

With buying online I agree that you should not go on price alone because there are people who cut cost and are shady. I would not hesitate from buying from any of the big guys though like ABT, Amazon, etc. So again there with anything else do your research on who you are buying from, ask around here and see who has shopped there before, etc.

I bought my receiver from listenup.com and had a great customer service experience.

Another reason people stay away from online is financing, typically you cannot get financing online (some places do have it) and that is easier in a local store. Personally I am leaning towards buying online for the new sammys

Go chat with the online customer service at ABT, I just talked to someone there and he gave me the price for the UN55D8000. No info on the 60 or the 65 yet unfortunately.

That's true amjustice. I agree I also buy things online. Even bought one of my DLPs online but most are bought through stores. No real reason behind it though. I always buy from the right/trusted places.

Yea, where did you preorder the 46D8000 from? I've yet to see it from anywhere since it's not even released till April.

I preordered the un46d8000 from abt. I talked with a guy in chat there and he told me they were taking preorders. So I went ahead and pre ordered. He said that they hoped to get the 8000 by late March.

I talked to abt, they didn't offer a preorder or even a price. just told me they expect them in the March April time frame. Its funny how different people get different answers from them.

That's another reason people don't buy online. To many companies don't know what is going on when your talking to them even when you reading stuff form their own website. Not all sites are like this but it would be nice to see more companies fix these types of issues which just shouldn't happen. It's no way to run a business and will lose you customers quickly.
It can be worse over the phone too.

Well mine is officially preordered, just got the email confirmation and reciept. I also got an email from another guy from where emailed theme about the d8000 earlier. He also said they were taking preorders. I was also told that was second on the list for the un46d8000 preorders. Also I got a pretty good price for preordering.

I am waiting to see what the story is with the 60 and 65 in models. I will settle on 60 if it's going to be a long time for the 65.
