Ok, I can't wait. I'm picking up an LN40C610 tomorrow, and while it might be a bit too big for the bedroom it meets all of my criteria (1080p and 120hz) and its at a pretty good price.

Is it a mistake buying this set or should I wait??

I hope stores at least start receiving shipments next week, hopefully we can get some solid US info. There have been conflicting reports on the d7000 and d8000, what features and what's included with them.

Different promotion in different countries? But for sure in Korea, they give Galaxy tab Wifi instead of 3" touch remote.
They released two different type of glasss. One is very light(28g) and the other is a little heavier(35g?) and they're included in the model.

Most stores should start receiving the models after Feb. 28th through the the first week of March. I've already looked at the 2011 Samsung plasmas. Just waiting on the led and lcd models.

Samsung need to get the website up and done. There lazy about giving out info when everyone already knows the models are coming. Their reps and customer service know that these models exist but they are being told not to release info. It's funny how the product page exit on the net but Samsung still don't release or even address anything going on.

If it meets your needs and is a good price, then go for it. You can gamble and wait for the new tv model but it will likely be a lil more $$$(depends on what u pay for the 610 model) but you may get a better tv overall.

Screen Sizes 75"

According to the report from the EUropean line-up catwalk show there are no plans yet to productize the 75 incher. This may mean no 75" in 2011 at all, or, optimistically, perhaps the decision will be made later for launch for the end of the year season.

Here's a link for 46D8000 model in Korean. Only 46 & 55 are listed. Not even D7000 models yet updated.

Expecting PR (Performance Report) on PQ & otherwise from you shortly. Your pleasure will be in providing world's first public PR on D series which will generate huge global interest. Operation of Micro Dimming and black levels, viewing angle, are priorities.

I can see where on paper full local dimming may be the better option but I wasnt getting it when I saw some of the new Full Dimming sets from LG that looked nowhere near as impressive as the Samsung D8000

Full local dimming shines in a dark room, in a well lit room its not going to be much different the an edge led. Led TVs have great black levels in a lit room but cut the lights off and the black levels are not as dark, with local dimming it makes the black black. Samsung is trying to achieve the same effect with edge led, the c8000 is great but not really on The level of a full led, the d8000 has an all new configuration and processing with micro dimming, it looks promising and improved over the c8000 but we'll have to wait n see for ourselves.

I don't know if everyone saw this. With all the bad info going around I think this is accurate, they are usually a good source

Great information. Stinks about release dates of June for the 60" models. I was really hoping to get the UN60D7000 in my living room quick! I may have to take advantage of the deep discount on the Sharp LC60LE925UN instead.

We will see, release dates are subject to change. They show first week of march as of this moment, I may have gotten confused with the D8000 plasma lines coming out the end of march or later.

Some info on the 46 and 55D6000. There in stores this week. They look ok, nothing special as they are just this years basic 120hz led with internet. For people that are into the whole Samsung panel lottery, the D6000 series are using version H302. Last years 46C6300 uses version H306.

I'm getting 46D8000 too
I bet I'm the only one who does not care how much it will cost (except very wealthy people), because this was a replacement of my 46C8000 that had dead pixel, I asked samsung to wait and replace it with 2011 model instead of the similar model, they were OK
I wish I will get dead pixel by feb 2012 so I can ask for the 2012 model just kidding
