I saw that Digital Plaza showing up as a seller in Amazon has the UN55D8000 listed as available. In fact it states "In Stock. Yes, We Really Have Them Available !!" which is kinda funny because I went to look at the 7000 version and they didn't have that comment posted underneath just said it was in stock. Maybe they are starting to trickle out?? I hope so because I want one. Well, i'd like the 65 but I don't think I could wait til July (if that's when they may come out).

Has somebody in position been saying about July or another urban legend is created?

This in fact is the factor limiting the display size. Big display serves well as content/display artefacts magnifier and evaluation tool. Perfect for some members of the AVS Forum. For others it may become a torture. One should thus take into account the content source usage: High-bit rate Blue Rays with top PQ ratings should be majority of the diet, broadcast TV just so-so, uncompressed HD video preferred but unavailable.

Took a look at the new 51 D 450 in a retail store, nice, but the savings on the 50" are well worth the hunt if you can still find one, 600 vs 680+ for about an inch.

those were plasmamodels right? No visible change in blacklevel? hard to say in a retailstore maybe however.

I want my next TV to have "smell the glove"-blacklevel. I got me an st50 and I think I can smell some leather in a not too far away distance somewhere.

is there any way to determine if the 7000 series has the microdiming+ from the demo displays? If I recall the last 7000 series had the same options as the 8000 it just required a service menu adjustment.

Yeah but this forum isn't really indicative of the average TV buyer.

I don't see any 55 inch TV being worth more than $1700 or so.

Worth is relative, and it's that last 5% or so in gains that always costs the most to attain. Don't see why you're on a site like this saying a 55" TV isn't worth more than $1700. Would you go to a Ferrari forum and argue why anyone would drive something that costs more than a Camry?

Is it just me or is this the most confusing year for Samsung TV's?

First off, people have already bought the new models, vendors have several of the lines in stock and Samsung still has yet to post much on their site about them, I think only the D6000 is up there when people now actually already own the D7000 and D8000.

When some of our AVS vendors / sponsors get these models in or when anyone is able to officially confirm what the ACTUAL difference between most of the line up is, I would love to know. I see the charts and speculation, but so far nothing seems to be "official" and it differs from USA and Europe.

I am personally interested in and will be buying a 55" set this summer. I wanted the D8000 but for the life of me can't get concrete clarification on what the difference is between that and the D7900? Then, between those 2 models and the D7000?
Some say glasses, some say the touch screen remote, I hear it's the bezel color then the bezel width?

Since I will be buying in the USA, the above questions are in respects to the North American market TV's that I am trying to find answers one.

Who will be getting the D7900? I see mention of it but not to many people are buying it? It's either the D7000 or D8000 mentioned most of the time? Why have some people not ordered the D7900?

Next, the voucher thing...is that for the touch screen remote? I thought these models did not come with it std and only the QWERTY was in the box? If we go to the D8000, do we get both? I saw the remote on the Samsung site as something we need to buy..i think it was just over $200.00 or so.

Wonder if any packages will be offered on this line up which include a Blu Ray player? I'm guessing it's way to soon for that now.

Still looking for the perfect TV...

Samsung rep has said that the website should now be up by mid March. There webmaster is working on it as we speak. I really hope it is up, getting tired of the speculation and rumors of this and that.
People who have any of the new 2011 tvs, list what actually came in the box, list specs and any other info that might be useful.

Has anyone checked out why Modia is listing the UN65D8000 as being in stock and selling for $5399.99. Must be a mistake.

I just called, sales guy told me that he wasn't for sure why but he was calling the owner to see and he would call me back. He also told me that the 60d8000 wouldn't be out til 2nd half of the year in there store.

Fed Ex has a few different divisions. This went Thru Fed Ex National LTL, a commercial freight company with appointment based deliveries.

The average TV buyer don't usually read AVS forums either. They will usually go to their local Best Buy and buy whatever the guys in blue recommend that's within their budget. Most of the AVS members are technology enthusiasts who are willing to pay a premium price to get the latest and greatest. Those who are looking for bargains should go to slickdeals.net, not AVS.
