Clouding is the #1 reason, I returned 3 TV last year. I tried a LED and LCD and all had pretty bad clouding. My condition are hard for this since It's a TV in my basement and I mostly watch it at night, often with no lights on.
That's the reason I'm looking for a full led backlit set (with minimal input lag for videogames). Right now, if we forget input lag for a second, There are 3 potential TVs I am looking for. First was the LG LW7700 which seems to have been canned by LG completely (no news on a 3D passive version like they are doing with the LW9800), I guess the LW9800 could then be a model I will consider. Sony HX929 is another one and finally, Sharp new LE935 when it releases.
LG and Sharp traditionnal, espicially Sharp, are known for low input lag. I am crossing my finguers that LG won't let me down on that specific model. Maybe Tapioca, if you do play game (xbox 360 or PS3), could put the TV in game mode and tell us if you feel input lag?
I would also be curious to see what the PQ looks like in game mode. Usually, in game mode, the TV will disable some of its features that process the picture to make it look good to gain some speed and reduce input lag. I'd like to see if the PQ suffer a lot in game mode or not.
