Hello, I tried to search for the answer and did not find anything... can anyone please tell me whether the Sony HX929 supports Full RGB color?

Thanks!

Yes, it supports 0-255 full RGB. It also supports 12 bit color and 4:4:4 Chroma in game/graphics scene mode.

Is this YCbCr 4:4:4?

My PC also lets you send YCbCr 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 to the HX929 along with RGB limited/full.

I mean does the tv support YCbCr 4:4:4 (not RGB 4:4:4) in games/graphics mode? The reason I ask, is that i use a Nvidia Shield TV and with the latest update, it now lets you select RGB Full/Limited or YCbCr 4:4:4. So if i put it on Graphics scene (and use your latest settings from the calibration thread) and put YCbCr 4:4:4 on the Shield TV, I should be good to go?

Also, thanks for the settings!

Yes, the TV accepts YCbCr 4:4:4 with 12bit color and dynamic range limited. I prefer RGB FULL with 12bit color though. I have a GTX 980 Ti.

Edit, I missed your part about my settings. My settings are calibrated to RGB Full. With limited dynamic range signals the color and brightness settings would have to be changed.

I share the same devices and the same question was on my mind.

Some players allow you to set as full or limited, but for some reason when I set it to YCbCr in Nvidia control panel it gray's out the dynamic range box and sets it to limited, test images also confirm this. I don't have a blu-ray player to test out YCbCr 4:4:4 full, but when the PS4 allowed you to adjust this setting it would reproduce the same dynamic range as RGB Full. I watch all of my video/TV/movie content with RGB Full though.

So, if the ripped bluray movie is sub sampled as 4:2:0 do we benefit setting the shield to 4:4:4?

You should see a much sharper image, but this TV only supports 4:4:4 Chroma in Game/Graphics scene mode, in all other modes only 4:2:2 is displayed.

You can try my picture settings here Official Sony HX929 Settings & Calibrations Thread once you change to 4:4:4. To me image sharpness/detail > deep black level

You would use Graphics or Game, they are the same once you match the settings.
