I could see myself using this at home, the glasses were a lot lighter and cheaper than the active glasses, so if my kids had friends over I could actually afford to have glasses for everyone. Plus the TV comes with 4 pairs so we would get to watch from the moment we hooked up the set without additional cost. The ones in the kit had a cheaper feel than the ones from the movies so plan on them breaking and stock up when you go the movies and take those with you :-).
When moving from side to side, the image would shift which is to be expected, but it didn't seem to lose the 3d effect when watching it from off-center.
I also didn't have any trouble putting them over my regular glasses.
I've tried the active glasses in the store and they didn't feel as natural.
The 2d-3d conversion was pretty cool.. The demo disc had an Indy car race and switching to 3d looked decent.
Since all the sets I'm looking at are 2011 models, the reviews are scarce, but this set having passive 3d makes it more attractive since the price of admission is a lot more manageable. I look forward to seeing reviews from actual owners.
