Can you (or anyone) tell me, the Android Plex app, does it let you share stuff from your phone to the tv, or is it only a remote control for your computer running the server? I don't want to waste $5 on something that doesn't do what I want..

Here's some comparison shots of the LG glasses, first up are the newer glasses:

Then the glasses that come with the set:

The newer one's have sturdier lenses and several "cutouts" presumably to make them lighter.

Next we have Real D glasses that I got in the theater, they are my favorites so far, they are very sturdy right down to the lenses.

And then we have the "cheapies" these are a collection of glasses accumulated over time from the theaters, they feel cheap and they are hideous. But they are perfect for my son's friends to use because I don't care if they break

Bonus on those glasses is that my 5 yr. old can doodle on them

Group shot:

Or would it we worth dealing local at $2500. to insure returnability?
heard some were nessacary to return for better picture?
Canadian prices suck.

If you want to wait, Frys will probably have it on sale again but maybe not this low. Last time it was $1449 or $1499 with a free 3D Lg BluRay player.

Are you saying that when 2D to 3D conversion is enabled, the tv operates at 60hz rather than 120 or 240? And that that statement is true for both the 5600 and 6500 lines?

Is it only a credit for Dish or DirecTV customers? I didn't ask for mine because it didn't pertain to me...

There are two deals. The one with Dish where you get the $200 dollar credit at Fry's or the one through LG where you get the VOD credit through your cable provider.

The latter can be found here: lgpromooffers.com/cinema3dvod/

**Can't post links yet**

I think you can get the VOD credit all via the website. Shouldn't require an extra trip to Fry's...unless you just want an excuse to go to Fry's.

What is the Dish frys $200 credit? Is that with a new subscription to Dish or can existing Dish customers get it?

Not sure of the details but I imagine it's for new customers.

Update:
Just found some info and it's for new dish customers.

I tried going down today and picking up one of these and they told me they were sold out and even sold the floor model. I then ordered one online and they sent an email back saying sorry no more.

Okay, now that I've had the TV for a couple days, I have a couple complaints.

1) the sound sucks. It seems like LG is wanting everyone to buy their "sound bar"
2) This TV only displays closed captioning on Live TV and on composite inputs. The option is greyed out for all other sources. I rely on CC due to hearing problems. Am I missing some setting that will allow CC on HDMI inputs? Please tell me I am.

EDIT:
Never mind. I forgot how CC works.

This is $200 worth of PPV credit. It is good only for cable or satellite providers. Since I have neither, it does not benefit me. I'm going to send off for the discount codes in case they can be used for friends etc.

This is NOT a good TV for people with hearing impairment if CC doesn't work when it should.

If you have hearing impairment, then how do you know the speakers suck? Lol

All tv have terrible speakers. Buy a better sound system.

Also, closed caption is only for tv! Why would there be cc in other sources? You bluray/DVD player outputs the subtitle, not the tv.

Is this your FIRST tv ever? Lol

Can I use just any circular polarized glasses, like the Real D glasses, with this set. I just checked on eBay and have seen Real D glasses in packs of 10 and even 50, with each pair costing less than $1.00, when bought in those quantities.

HD-A1 + XBOX Add-On + PS3 = Format Neutral

Yes. I bought one of those Real D packs and they work the same as the ones that came with the tv.

Hi folks, noticed there haven't been many (if any) mentions of this on here so I thought I'd ask , when viewing in 2D->3D conversion mode or e.g. streaming SBS .mkv files in 3D mode do you get black bars down each side of the picture about 1 inch wide? A few of of owners of the UK equivalent model (LW550T) are seeing this and it would be nice to get confirmation whether this also affects the LW5600 / as well?

Thanks
Andy

DOH! (slap to the forehead.)
Not my first HDTV, but I haven't set one up in about 4 years. I forgot that it wasn't the TV generating the CC. Got that all figured out. lol.

I'm not deaf, just very hard of hearing. This is why the bad sound is an issue. I use CC alot to keep from blasting the family/neighbors out late at night.

My previous tv (Toshiba Regza) had great speakers for general tv watching. It was also about 5 inches thick compared to this one which is about an inch I think.

OK, I put an optical cable from the TV to my amp. But I do not get the dts sound through this cable from the PS3 Bluray. Is this normal? Is there a way to get the dts to pass through?

Anybody have the LG sound bar? Is it worth the $250 for use in general tv watching?
