The judder that is discussed in this thread that's happening. Where people are setting the AutoMotion setting to "clear". Is this just on certain sets or all? Or is it some people are not noticing it? Setting to clear has improved it but I still notice it now and then. I have read here that a few software updates ago broke the AMP settings. ? Should I exchange or is this a know issue? I was in the Samsung forums and read people bitching about it and Samsung said its normal. Normal? Really? Can you guys let me know? Thanks

I have a UN55D8000YF Smart TV. Has anyone had this series professionally calibrated? I would like to know what the settings are so I can get an optimal picture. Thanks in advance!

If anyone cares, I just received my replacemend UN65D8000 this morning. I looked at the sticker on the back and it was manufactured in March 2012 and has the newest GA02 panel. I haven't messed with it much, but so far, this might be a keeper. It really depends on how the 3D performs and if there's any significant clouding or backlight bleed. I'll keep you guys posted.

I heard the 3D performance was the biggest improvement from C to D series. Myself I jumped from B to D and not regretting it a single bit.

Not that companies aren't guilty of this lol

Hey I have read where some of you guys use a gray screen to test/inspect the panel. Just curious but how do you do this?

Should I buy a 4 year protection plan from Best Buy for this TV since they have a lot of issues?

First time poster here! Just received my new UN55D8000 yesterday. It is an H303 panel. Everything works great so far, although I did not hook it up to my netowrk yet. I had to order a Toslink cable to go from my blue ray HT to my TV because I could not get sound on my PS3 other wise.

Can anyone recommenda good #D blu-ray movie, like a pizar one or something? Thanks!

Hi JewDaddy:

Just curious what your intial findings are with panel GA02? I've got Future Shop seeking me out an H303 panel 55" 8000. Failing that, I'm wondering if perhaps your panel has any issues commonly reported with the H302 and H301 panels?

Thanks,

Jay

Lucky for me, my 65D8000 has been near perfect. And as the very early posts here will show, I was probably the first person in the U.S. to get one. So far I have had no problems and everyone loves the picture and 3D. Good luck on your new one.

You need to go into ps3 settings and change sound output to "hdmi".
settings>sound settings>audio output settings. Change from optical digital to hdmi.

I got it as a safety measure since I plan on having the tv more than 4 years. I get to pay it off in 3 years, and I have unfortunately already had to use it, have 2 dead pixels. Chances of me extending it past 4 is unlikely.

I am looking for a soundbar but I keep reading about Samsung sound bars are junk and I had verified by listening to a few at BB. The one that did sound good was the LG NB-3520a model. It's 310 watts and has Bluetooth. Is there any issues with not matching soundbars with tv manufacturers ?

There is a Sony one that is really nice. Has hdmi inputs and outputs. I have a Vizio vsb210ws, it is very good and it has a wireless subwoofer. It has optical and two RCA inputs, I would strongly recommend it.

I've begun the repair process on mine. I've had the set almost a year now, and been dealing with horizontal banding, which hasn't been to bad. But it's getting annoying now. Any time there is vertical camera movement you can see the variance in brightness across the entire screen, mostly murky colors, like grey, light browns, greens. On top of that getting some minor flash-lighting at times on the bottom left side/corner. Which is really odd cause it's flash-lighting at about the height of any wide screen bars, and that's with cinema black on.

I know my buddy had worse issues with his, hopefully a new panel fixes the issues otherwise I hope I can get this thing exchanged for an ES since all reports indicate that those sets have a much more even picture.

OK I have a question, normally if you have a PC connected to the sammy and select PC under tools for the input it changes it to a pixel to pixel ratio display. Thus giving you a perfect PC screen without having to use any overscan. My question is I have a Mac mini connected through my yamaha receiver via HDMI and when I select PC on the sammy it does nothing. Is there a way to force it into pixel to pixel?

Thanks for your time and my nebbish question!
