Hey all,

Long time reader...first post!  Just want to say thanks for all the useful information floating around here.  I own a Samsung UN46D6000 and have a question regarding how the set saves the various setting profiles.

For instance, I have my Cable box plugged into HDMI 2 and XBOX 1 plugged into HDMI 4.  If I set the display to my custom "standard" settings while watch TV (HDMI 2) and switch to XBOX (HDMI 4), will those settings carry over or can I create a gaming profile using another "standard" profile?

Basically, do the settings save to the input or to the setting description itself (standard, dynamic, movie, etc.).

In total I'd like to have a standard set for watching TV (HDMI 2), and standard set for gaming (HDMI 4) and a movie set (also HDMI 4 since I use the XBOX for BD and Netflix streaming)

Thanks for your help!

Hey Reilly. The settings don't carry over. Whenever you switch inputs, you are looking a whole new Movie/Standard/Gaming etc profile settings that you can customize.

Awesome...just the answer I was looking for!  Also, I'm currently on firmware version 1025 I believe.  Is there any reason to upgrade to the latest?  I read the update notes and didn't find anything that would affect my viewing.  Mostly app updates which I don't use.

Ya, I don't use any of the apps or smart features myself and I have not upgraded the firmware since buying it almost 2 years ago.

In this case: If its not broke, don't fix it.

Mine is up to date and nothing has broken as far as I can tell. I do use the smart features which are quite usable. Only thing missing is the Amazon Instant Video app :-(

Hey I have a 55" samsung UN55d6050tfxza ... and It just started making clicking noise when I turn on the TV. The clicking noise after tv is on lasts about 4-5 min so far and then eventually goes away. Its kind of annoying and I read people with similar Samsung models have stated that it is a faulty power supply. So is this the case? I am just over 2 years on my TV will Samsung do anything about this. What do you guys suggest. TV has been kept in excellent condition so I dont understand why this is happening

Thanks
V.V.

Samsung D6000 keeps its HDMI ports live even when turned off?

I have the 32" UA32D6000SR, and it seems like one of those TVs that keep its HDMI ports live even when turned off. That caused me a minor headache as my AVR would accept only 2-channel stereo from my blu-ray player and STB even though the source has (only) 5.1 DD sound. This happens if the AVR's output is connected simultaneously to the TV and a projector via an HDMI switch, and I'm using the projector while the TV is off. The moment I unplug the HDMI cable from the TV, there's a new HDMI negotiation (the audio and AVR's front-panel display go away and come back immediately), and the 5.1 surround sound is back magically. I plug the HDMI cable back into the TV, and the audio goes back to 2CH.

I read elsewhere on the forum that some newer devices keep their HDMI port live to support HDMI CEC, but not so with this TV. HDMI is live even with CEC turned off. Unfortunately, I can't unplug the TV from the power socket when not in use because its inside a hard-to-reach cabinet hosting surge-protectors and my voltage stabilizer output. So for now I have to unplug the TV's HDMI or the power cable from the TV side.

Posting this just in case someone finds this useful. I was lucky to be lurking on avs just a few hours back before this happened to me, otherwise I'd never have guessed. Without AVS, my first thought would have been to send the AVR for servicing.

Audio Settings

Is there a way to disable internal speakers? or have it permanently stay on External Receiver? every time I turn the TV on it loses this settings so I can't see on-screen volume from receiver, and I hear audio from Receiver and TV speakers.

Using ARC HDMI 2 on TV

Hello all
I have a big problem with UE40D6000 meaning that I recently updated to T-GAS6DEUC-1027.0 and suddenly my CAM Module isn't recognized anymore.
I have looked on samygo and downgrade it to 1011 then updated to 1014 and 1020 with no answer.
How to solve this?

The only thing I can think about is to install each of firmwares out there from 1011 (I've downgraded again) to 1026 but I can't manage to found anything but those two (1014, 1020).
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

Broken panel

Since yesterday morning my 40D6000 panel seems to be broken, as some lines of pixels are not being lighten up.
The screen has some vertical lines depending on the picture showed.
I've attached two pics to see what I'm talking about.
Is there anything I can do via service menu (access to advanced too)?

Has anyone had an issue with the panel dying on these? My aunt has the 46" version. UN46d6420UF to be exact. She experienced a blurry picture about 1/4 down from the top. That was there for three days, then the entire panel went dead. She can still get sound. Any ideas? I've had her try different ports with cable box and blu ray player. Nothing new happens.
