I thought these threads were for a owner to create and fire away about their set, personal reviews, pics etc.??

Anybody want to share there experiences with this set? Hopefully this thread can get rolling am really interested in hearing more about it pros and cons looking to maybe purchase.

Can you post game input lag experiences? How is it for you gamers any noticeable lag?

I posted this on another thread with no answers yet.

Can anyone see a reason to purchase the 6300 over the 6000? Based on screen shots of the Apps available from Samsung, a browser is included with the 6000. My main reason for waiting for the 6300 was for the browser but now seems available on both.

An additional question is about getting a web connection to the TV. If I bring cat 5 to the receiver (Pioneer) and send the Internet signal to the TV thru the HDMI connection (Ethernet capable HDMI cable), is that as acceptable as a Wifi signal to the TV?

Thanks for you response.

Hey guys

This is indeed for the owners to exchange their opinions and post picture settings etc. The emphasis here is on the plural, owners. This being a new series it'll take some time before we get some good reviews. I did't have much time to play with the set. jB, I answered your email. Unfortunately I don't game often. I'll need to either fix an rrod'd xbox or get a new one to check gaming lag, and I don't plan on doing either soon. Someone might be able to answer your question here directly.

6300 vs 6000 according to the chart only web browser

A couple of observations about the D6400 3D ultrathin

The set is lovely. Very light and (ULTRA)thin. The bezel made the sale. The salesman didn't know the difference between component and composite.

Picture quality is very good. The only major issue is flashlighting and from user reviews of the D7000 micro dimmed series I can see that this issue is still present as it was in the 2010 models (perhaps less severe). Is it terrible? No. You will see it during nighttime viewing in some very dark scenes and with the backlight cranked up high. You will likely enjoy most of your movies and most dark scenes. But sooner or later you'll run into it. As a side note, most sane people would not care - but they don't frequent this forum.

Another issue (depending on your Internet provider) is Netflix blinking. It's how Samsung handles less than perfect Internet connections. The screen turns black for a second and then resumes. LG players are not perfect either. LG players produce a sort of a twitch, similar to an electrical disturbance or skipped frames, but the streaming is otherwise uninterrupted. I prefer the LG solution. From the few Hulu plus demo videos I have concluded that the Hulu app handles these issues in another manner (picture freeze).

SD is lovely on this set. Often you'll read comments from HD-spoiled owners of TV sets and projectors how that particular set had great HD but "terrible" SD picture. I even saw it in reviews of non-HD (!) projectors. I would only trust a professional review, if SD picture is important to you.

Picked up the D6050 from Costco. Anyone have optimal picture settings? I do notice some shutters when watching sports SD and HD. Could this be a cable provider issue?

I just picked up the 40 inch D6000 and I do love it. Default settings even in Movie/Cinema mode were alittle sharp had to bring that all the way down to 5. Can't wait till we get some really good settings for this TV. Also backlight was set to max by default I downed it to 10 out of 20.

Other thing I noticed was the COLOR SPACE option in the TV's menu, set on AUTO made RED to RED so I choose custom and put it at 15 and the other 2 at 0. Much better.

Anyone with a XBOX 360 connected through HDMI know what I should set it at? Like HDMI COLOR SPACE and the black level setting that has standard, medium and expanded?

EDIT:Someone recommended using SOURCE for color space and STANDARD for reference levels on the 360. Seems to look pretty damn good.

I am confused. Did the UN40D6000 get an update to include a web browser now or do you have to go to the 6300 to get that?

Hi can you tell me how your D6000 performs with input lag on Xbox 360? I tried the previous years 650 and 750 series and they were all very delayed.. almost unplayable actually.

thanks

by judder do you mean staggering type of movement that looks like a lag/skip when there is movement? because I was noticing this when comparing the D6000 and new LG 5500 side by side at the store..

Yes, it has a game mode. It's in system, not in the picture settings where you might think.

I decided I'm taking it back to the store. My complaints about this TV is the color trailing which isnt that noticeable in movies but in videogames its very noticeable especially if its a darker game forget about it then it smears so bad when you turn. I fear this is probly a problem with all LED LCD's at the moment, if you have a 360 download the CONDEMNED 2 demo and you'll see what I mean about smearing. It has amazing black levels and contrast and if your not a big gamer then this is a perfect TV. Going to try the new Panasonic Plasma ST30 model.

Picked up the UN55D6000 2 weeks ago and loving it. I have noticed the Netflix blinking issue sometimes. Is "bad internet connection" the official word from Samsung related to this issue, because I'm on T1. Shouldnt be an issue IMO. I dont get the problem streaming thru my Wii, but then again, its not streaming HD that way either.

Haven't figured how the "Your Video" app works or where the to find the dedicated web browser (I thought this set had one). I try signing on and the set freezes up. Anyone else tried this? I tried contacting Samsung, but their response was "we don't have SMART TV app compatibility specs for 2011 units yet...".

AMP- Auto Motion Plus settings clear, smooth...etc I set to off. Played COD last night briefly, mostly well lit levels. I did not notice blurring. MASKOAA I will try out Condemned 2 sometime this week and post my results.

Screen Response time is lacking shown by this review of the 7000.

More so for blacks.

Screen Response is the same as Game Lag or is that different? How is response in FPS like COD Cuda883?

I was hoping this set (one of the 6000's) was decent for gaming.

Screen Response is how fast the pixels change. Input Lag on these sets is 66ms or 4 frames behind a CRT. When I'm playing on it I dont notice any input lag but I do notice the slower screen responce in darker games.

Well that's good to know, I was thinking of getting the Sharp 920un for how its known to be good as far input lag - do you think this D6000 would be on par? Also did you decide to keep the set?

Digital Noise Filter: Auto
Film Mode: Auto 1 (passes 3:2 cadence in 1080i sources)

Hmm, I feel these settings make the tv look far to dark. Would it be better to increase the "brightness" or the "backlight" to improve screen brightness?

Other than the web browser, what's the difference between the D6000 and the D6300?

At first it looked too dark but I got used to it. During the day I keep the backlight at 12.

Has anyone else done the software update today? It screwed up my Smart hub. whenever I try to use an app it sits at connecting forever...
