(even though I had problems with the component input for 3 days before). All component connections worked perfectly now. I'm baffled, but happy that everything is working now. I'm going to test the heck out of it before my 30 days is up just to be sure.

I didn't have problem saving. I don't remember exact sequence, but if you follow the menu, and get back at each step properly with Close button, it does get saved. If you don't like your change, there is always a Reset choice to bring it back to the Factory setting. I like Factory setting of Natural look, and use it.

Official member of the club here

Bought it Friday at a regional chain and got 4 glasses (cheapy ones) and the Samsung 5.1 surround sound / 3D Blu-ray.

So far so good. The SOE is bothering me a little and I need to calibrate the colors. But first thing off to Monoprice to buy some longer HDMI cables

I read in a thread that if you re-enter the menu, your settings return to factory settings. That seems kind of cumbersome to me since you could lose your settings by a simple mistaken button press. I have re-entered my calibration settings about 5 times since I got the tv. Is there a way to save calibration profiles? ...

The TV remembers settings changes for each input... e.g. HDMI1, HDMI2, ...AV1, etc. Also, it remembers changes for each picture mode, Standard, Movie, etc.

Finally, it will only remember these changes if you set the TV to Home Use in the initialization setup. When you first plug in the set, it comes up and asks you to select Store Demo or Home Use. If you leave it in Store Demo, your setting changes will be reset whenever you turn off the set.

To get back to that initialization menu, it goes something like this: Menu then Plug and Play, then Setup then something like "initialization". (You may need to choose TV as the Source first.) Another way to bring up the initialization process is to hold a few keys on the remote at the same time... check your manual. Finally, it may come up if you unplug your set for a few minutes then plug it in.

Also, the chance of getting a H303 panel is probably very low from Amazon. I would probably get a 301 or 302 and have the clouding and back light issues that are being reporting in this thread.

+1 for Amazon. I bought my UN60D7000 there and initially had flashlighting/clouding and got it replaced with 0 hazzles. They just brought in a new TV and swapped out the old one.

The TV itself is going pretty strong. it still has mild flashlighting if I look for it closely but overall it still looks stunning.. The pixelation-on-darkscenes with non 1080p source has always been an issue though

Might have been the Samsung component connector dongle cable connection.
Often they don't appear to make a good connection with the plug initially, you need to unplug it and plug it in really hard sometimes. Maybe the store reseated the plug connection.
I don't like those dongles they use on the ultra-thin displays now - I prefer the RCA connectors directly on the panel for a good connection.

Ah. That must be it. I was going off the USB and had the settings for the DVD player. Looks like I'm going to be setting all of them now. I'll wait until my Blu Ray comes. Thanks. I'll check it out. By the way, the tv is in home mode.

Default Signal Input?
I use HD STB signal input on HDMI-1, and Blu-ray on another HDMI. I don't use TV's internal tuner. When I turn on Blu-ray, input automatically switches to it. That is good. But when I turn off Blu-ray, input goes back to TV, even if STB is on and there is signal on HDMI-1. How can I set default input to HDMI-1? I don't like manually switching from TV to HDMI-1 everytime, when I never use TV's own signal. Any idea please?

Turn off HDMI-CEC (called Anynet on Samsungs) in the blu ray player.

Hi everybody. Just started posting. Been creeping for a while lol. In the question of the light bleeding and clouding I was able to fix the problem with some bias lighting. If don't know what that is I recommend you look it up in you tube. Now my whole screen is black and I don't notice any bleeding or clouding. Bias lighting is a must in this tv.

I went to 3 more Best Buys today and still no luck in finding a H303 panel. That's a total of 7 Best Buys and all of them had the H301 panel.

I might have to just buy the 301 and hope/pray that I don't have severe clouding/backlight bleeding issues. I saw the 301 panels had a 10/30/11 date on the sticker on the box.

Does anyone here happen to have an Apple TV hooked up to their set? Mine is defaulting to PC mode when I turn on the Apple TV (HDMI 3). The problem is, I can't select any picture mode other than Entertain or Standard. I'd like to use my Cal-Day or Cal-Night if at all possible.

Thanks!

a hole in the roof, or a 300 pound dead man in my yard. neither are good.

I have a new 7000 series 60" coming this week, I downloaded the manual from the samsung website, but didn't see any information on the mounting specs.
I have a a650 52 inch mounted on the wall now and want to know if my current mount would work with the new tv or do I need a different mount? Would like to get the new one ordered if I need one.
Thanks!

Hi, everyone. I unexpectedly joined this group this morning after accidentally coming across and buying a UN55D7000 as an open item at Best Buy. I got an unbelievable price because it was mis-priced as an open item and missing the Qwerty remote, manual and as it turns out, the screws for the pedestal base. I'm sure I'll have a tom more questions later as I get it hooked up and running, but for now I'm wondering if any of you have an idea of where I can get the pedestal screws or appropriate screws that will work. Thanks so much for any help/guidance you can give.

I guess it depends on what type of mount you have. I had a Sony 52" LCD mounted on a monoprice wall mount. I took the Sony down and mounted my 60d7000 on it with no problem. The weight is the bigger issue I think. My Sony weighed in about 20lbs more than the Samsung so it wasn't an issue.

Home Depot or most hardware stores.

M4 X 8L is what the manuel reads, it will read M4x8 at the store.

It was ROBOTO13 who has the 2 remotes, manuals, etc

The samsung qwerty Part number is RMC-QTD1

I found it new on EBay for $69.99 and free shipping.

Hi, i'm about to buy a 40D7000 (eu model).

I have a question: is there the possibility to totally defect the motion smoothing outside of the game mode (standard-movie mode) or it is always somewhat present?

Thanks

I just got my 60 incher today and I got to say, man this tv is georgeous!! I can't stop watching it! Football in 2d-3d mode is great! I'm loving everything about it. Well the only small flaw I have noticed is a little flash lighting in the bottom right corner but it is a non-factor.

So i can just call Samsung and they can replace mine ?

I've had the TV for 3 months now.. it's kind of getting worst each day... i paid 2400.00$ for this TV and it dosen't feel like a top TV at all...

I think i should call Samsung, i'd like to get another model, but should i wait for 2012 ? Maybe they will release new and better TVs that year ?

Here is an exemple of what my TV does:

I have 3 Samsung UN46D7000's arriving from Amazon in the morning. I am crossing my fingers they are the 303 panel. If not, I hope they don't have any serious issues. I am nearing the completion of my gaming rig and I don't want to get into swapping them out for new ones but this is definitely the model to go with for an eyefinity setup because of their small bezels.

Now I just have to find a way to get some sleep tonight. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve.
