Ouch! Even with Gorilla Glass that still happened?

Good luck finding a new panel (and replacing it). I would bet you may end up just having to replace the whole TV...

I have no idea about the parts. Do you think the panel needs to be replaced? or may be some part other than the screen?

I wonder if people really use there brains, no offence i really do love gorilla glass and have several products with it Cellphone Dell streak, nx720 40inch.

please dont get this wrong and stop spreading semi lies. gorilla glass has nothing to do with the lcd screen itself it is the glass(plate/screen) thats mostly glued or placed after the lcd(pixel)screen itself.behind the lcd screen there is a backlight(which can be ccfl gasfilledtubes, Led, or no backlight when it is Oled, when the backlight is the lcd screen itself) when gorilla glass gets a impact the screen will bend a bit and then the lcd screen will also have a impact since the gorilla glass will show almost no scratch or big scratch the pixel screen itself is broken. mine dell streak fillep out my hand when i was drunk. Nothing to see, the glass screen still crisp and sharp but unfortatly the lcd screen behind the gorilla glass is made out of monkey material. gorilla glass is a nice gimmick feature and the glassplate on the nx series is really premium looking but dont think it will save ur lcd screen on a major impact.

Hurray!

As of the 20th of April 2015, Google's YouTube app will no longer be supported on certain Sony products.

Hej, guess what.... Also my Panasonic Home Cinema is using the same app.
Outdated devices after some 3 years and a bit.

Thank you Google!

I guess not many people come into this thread now as this series is getting a little old, but I am posting in the hope that someone can help.

My 55NX720 has always had a bit of an issue with 3D ghosting, especially in the background (and i don't just mean a little bit of blur) but now it seems to have got to the point that it actually spoils watching 3D movies. Is there anything I can do about this? Or is it just a problem that I have to live with?

Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Turkey Day

Well my NX720 60" laid a big egg on Turkey Day. It went belly up blinking 4 lights. Off it went to the dump.

I was so angry with Sony for a TV failing so quickly that I got a Vizio 70" M Class. It's much, much better.

Curious to know if anyone else here has ever experienced an issue with the F-connector (antenna)/ATSC tuner having difficulty tuning only one hi-VHF channel? I can connect my antenna to my TiVoHD and have full reception of my local ABC affiliate however signal reception is intermittent when connected directly from antenna to set using same cable and is altered by degree of screwing on coax connector (less tight allows for intermittent signal reception). This has not been an issue previously and I don't attribute source as being due to signal reflection. I've tried separate coax cables. UHF channel reception does not appear to be impacted.

I'd screw a set of "rabbit ears" on there and see what you are able to scan and find, digital and analog.
UHF/VHF as in non digital signals?
I have not had that problem ever, it sounds as either you are acting as part of the antennae or you have a poor connection. Possibly the center of coax cable is of small diameter and not making a solid connection?

Nope. Digital only, and one of only a couple VHF stations still transmitting (others are steady). When coax "jiggling" impacts signal it makes me suspect the attached antenna connection to the set and not cables since it happens with two separate cables and same cable attached to antenna in on TiVo picks up signal smooth as silk.

Follow up, I've now lost the other two VHF channels transmitting locally so it now appears to be a VHF issue on the antenna coax side. UHF channels through same input are fine. Anyone know if RF connector is on control board or can it be replaced?
