Is anyone familiar with the Samsung UN55D6400 55" 3D LED TV.I have a
Samsung PN58C680 58-Inch 1080p Plasma 3D HDTV.The tv will automatically
turn back on when you turn it off. When it comes back on there is no picture but sound only.I have had 5 samsung service call and it has not fix the problem.Today a samsung rep called me and said i could exchange the tv for
a Samsung UN55D6400 55" 3D LED TV,or I could get a total refund for the price i paid for the Samsung PN58C680.Is there a major difference between the two tv's?Which tv would better to have?i will be losing 3 inches of screen
size if i get the Samsung UN55D6400 55".Samsung said they no longer carry 58" screen size. The one i have now is plasma and the one they want to give me is LED.I cannot find any reviews of the tv they want to give me in the exchange.

Well the obvious major difference is that the PN58C680 is Plasma and the the D6400 is a LCD. The plasma is "specced" at 600hz where as the LCD is only 120hz. On the flip side, the D6400 is 3D capable, much more energy efficient, will definitely be slimmer and the fact it uses LED back lighting means it is a bit more reliable. Its just a guess but it sounds like the back lighting in your PN58C680 isnt working. The trade off is really dependent on what you were using the TV for. Depending on how much you paid for the PN58C680, it might just be better to get the refund and then check out whats available. Look at the current prices for the D6400 and see if its worth it. You may just want to reinvest in another plasma or even look at some older 2010 models that will be much cheaper than what you probably paid for the PN58C680. The D6400's I have seen in store however do look sexy for a 120hz display.

You can 't compare 600Hz sub-frame refresh on a 60Hz Plasma with 120Hz on a LCD.
