Some thoughts and musings on my 42LK520 (my first 120hz or 1080p TV):
Great:
-Gigantic - compared to my 32" Samsung
-Very smooth motion even without TruMotion
-Blu-ray looks AMAZING - 1080p/24fps playback handled well
-Excellent uniformity, no backlight bleeding
-Scaling to different resolutions very consistent in quality
-Semi-matte screen works great, no unwanted glare or reflections
-NO ghosting or smearing! Woo-hoo!
Uh-oh:
-Sound is weak, even weaker than my old Samsung
-Even with 120hz, still noticeable softening of edges and blur during long panning shots - maybe I'm just too picky
-Viewing angles are fine, but again, weirdly not as good as my Samsung
-Once in a while picture degrades into a bunch of blocks - not even during high motion, just randomly
-Vertical banding... can't seem to get an LCD without this
Anyway, it's a very good TV. I don't feel I have the settings right and I'm sure many of the above problems can be improved.
