Basically my budget is about $1,000.. but I don't know if it's worth stretching my budget a bit more for the 240HZ.

www.amazon.com/Samsung-UN46C8000-46-Inch-1080p-HDTV/dp/B0036WT4EW

Does it matter that much on a 3D LED? I want to get something that I will be happy with, and I've always loved SAMSUNGS. I will also be in the market for a nice Bluray player. Should I stick within the SAMSUNG brand for that as well?

Thanks for the advice!

The c8000 is last years model not this years. I like Samsung too, I have the 46D8000 which is this years model. The D6400 is actually a good model depsite some review sites saying it has poor screen uniformity issues. They also say the same on the D8000 model but I knew about edge lit and its flaws well before buying my tv. I love the PQ and see no real issues that I can't live with. There will never be a perfect tv, you just have to find one you can live with. Which is very possible as most problems are only seen under certain conditions.

I would suggest the D6400 LED/LCD TV and the Samsung BD-D6700 3D Blu-ray Disc Player (Silver). The two of them should make a great combo.

The 240hz will help with 3D but for your average programming I doubt you'd see much difference. The BD-D6700 is a good player. I'd stick with the same brand but you can mix and match if you like. Since you already like Samsung just stick with their brand.

So I'm leaning towards 120... any other opinions from anyone who owns these models?

And yes, I think I will stick with a Samsung brand player then..

There is no reason to even look at a C model unless your getting a really really good deal otherwise stick with just about any D model as they prove to have better blacks and PQ than the C models.
I know there are deals with the D6400 that can get u at least 2 glasses and some retailers offer a free bluray player(D5500). Occasionally you'll see the D6400 come with 4 glasses.

If you plan on doing any 3D viewing then it would be wise to steer clear of a "C" model. They use older glasses that aren't as readily available as the 2011 glasses, and their 3D performance is nowhere near as good as a "D" model.

^^^Definite +1. With a C you'll have to get universal glasses as the IR Samsung glasses are virtually unobtainable outside of a few leftover starter kits. Even if you can find Samsung IR glasses they weren't reduced to the $49.99 price for the current tech Bluetooth glasses.

As for 3D performance it follows the normal scenario for Samsung products--they're almost always first on the market with new tech but it doesn't work well until the 2nd or 3d generation. Their first 120 hz sets had "3 football effect", their first BD players were disastrous. Now they're fine.

Definitely stay clear of the "C" if your goal is 3D as the 2011 models have improved.

I must say that while my budget isn't as low as the 6000 series I'm quite impressed with the basic D6000 series at Target every Sunday I do my regular shopping up on the wall with other budget LCD's and Plasma's and it easily blows away everything else on the wall.

Were my budget in the $1K area one of my primary targets would be the D6400 as I find it loaded with PQ Pop, good black levels and vibrant whites and the bezel may not equal the D8000 but it's still a great looking panel IMO for the money.
