Yeah... that looks pretty messed up alright. I'd start on getting a replacement ASAP. It actually looks like there's a crack in the panel as well.

Ya, they pick it up tomorrow. I discovered that something poked through the box and hit the screen pretty hard. Leaving a nasty dent (white dot towards the right side of screen), and of course cracking it from the inside.

ahhhh delivery people...

I will.

One question though, my tv came with two Toshiba FPT-AG02 Activ 3D glasses

Does anyone know if the Toshiba FPT-AG01U 3D Glasses would work as well? I need a third pair.
Thanks

Thanks for the confirmation, I already ordered one more from Amazon. I might end up buying 2 more when I see how well they look and work.
Thanks

Get mine on Thursday from Conns, same $1999. Will post my opinions from the beginning. I have calibration discs and and will certainly spend some time. I will also give an honest opinion on this set since I wanted a plasma but the price captured me. In my system it will go into a dedicated home theater room with completely controlled lighting. I look forward to everyone else's hoest opinion on this set.

How is the off angle viewing on the 65" set? I need to replace my outdated Toshiba 65" DLP and looking at this model since the price is really good compared to others in this range. Anyone can post pics from off angle viewing that would be great. I have not seen this set in person before, but I might pull the trigger on it due to the awesome price even if the off angle viewing is rather poor.

After adjusting the setting and watching the set in a theater environment I concluded the deep blacks are not very good. In an area where there is light the set is very good but again so it depends on your purpose. I boxed it back up and returned it to Conns. Luckily they just marked down the set I wanted and for $1800 I bought the Panasonic 65GT30 Plasma. So good luck to all on your Toshibas.

I use my PS3 basically as a BD player.

Is the setting still the same for BD viewing on a PS3?

Thanks

Hi,

I have a chance to get this TV for good price soon... I have a few questions before I pull the trigger..

- How is the image quality for 2D?
- How is this TV for light reflections? If I buy this TV, it will be going into a room with natural light coming in (blinds are normally closed when watching TV)
- Are there any quality issues? i.e. common HW issues…recalls
- I have heard that this model is discontinued? If so, why so soon?

Please post any other thoughts on the TV. Interested to hear how this compares to Sharp and Samsung.

Thank you.

Hello all! I am new to AVS Forum. This is my first post. I had to comment on this Toshiba 65UL610U HDTV. So here goes:
First of all...I REALLY wanted to love this TV!!! It has every feature offered in the world of HDTV. The price is great...the size is great...the features are state of the art! Sound is actually very nice for such a slim TV! Picture was very good BUT...Now the bad part...there is visible clouding in dark scenes...scanning is absolutely horrendous! Curtain like dark vertical bands appear on scan/pan scenes and /or they appear on white or very bright scenes. Since this is an EDGE LIT HDTV what you are seeing are the LED light tubes not diffusing the light correctly...the light is not scattering properly but is instead creating a shadow of the tube that is very visible. Once you see the problem youll always see it because it is so obvious! The TV stand is probably the weakest stand ive ever seen...the TV leans forward about 10-15 degrees. I went through several TVs thinking I had "the defective one" but they were all the same. Google this tv and you wont find much information on it at all. For a Toshiba 65" HDTV with this spec sheet you would think there would be all kinds of reviews and information...there isnt! why? Because the TV is inherently flawed and Toshiba knows this and is very hush hush about it. I tried to love this TV but it has too may flaws that I just cant live with. If you can live with these flaws then I would not hesitate to buy this TV.
After trying 3!!! different ones I finally gave up and bought the Panasonic Plasma TC-P65GT30! I could not be happier! This might be the perfect HDTV...near perfect screen uniformity...near perfect blacks/dark scenes...near perfect scanning and video processing and absolutely no fluctuating brightness! I have a July 2011 build but it has all the new firmware updates including the PDP EEP patch 83.44 as checked in the service menu. Good luck to all who purchased this TV...I hope you got the good ones!!

I've got the european version of this model, the 55WL863. Im soo glad i chose this model. It truely is great for PC and console gaming!

Now for my question:

Has anyone gotten frame sequential 3D to work using AMD HD3D(Radeon 5000 series and up) and Tridef? PS3 frame sequential works great but sadly not using Tridef. Side by side works fine though.

That imaginary 65GT30 for $1800 is looking pretty nice in my living room because I also got mine for $1799+tax at a local Conns!
Before you go posting your sarcastic comments why dont you ask for some information on where he got his deal at?
I guarantee if this deal was at a store right down the street from where you live youd be down there in a flash trying to score that 65GT30 for yourself!

There is a Conns right in the same shopping mall as my Taekwondo gym, this is where I just purchased my Toshiba just a few days before I read his FAKE post, so I run down there almost immediately to see if I can scoop up one of these...and they have never heard of such a "fabulous" deal!

The Panny 65GT30 was my first choice in 3D HDTVs but the price point was a little more than I wanted to pay so I bought the Toshiba.
I can see the 65ST30 being reduced to $1800- but not the 65GT30

And yes, I can tell that you're new to AVS.
A seasoned AVS member would know that you don't go into a dedicated thread just to trash a competitor's product.

Go peddle your wares elsewhere.
