I'm looking at the 632 and 633 models. HH Gegg has the 632 model and Sam's Club has the 633. The only difference I see between the 632 and 633 is the AquoMotion 240 feature. Does anyone have any thoughts if that makes a big difference?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Firmware for LC-80LE632U This Firmware Update improves functionality of IP control as well as improvements to the menu text and setting descriptions.
This update includes all previous fixes and improvements.

Version: 310U1110111 Date: 10/28/2011

Drug my feet on connecting to my wireless router/internet until last evening. This morning a pop-up window automatically appeared on the screen right after powering up saying there is a software update available. So it appears update notifications are automatic and you won't miss any updates if you don't physically search for them.

As of today, 1/14/2012, Version: 310U1110111 is still current.

Received my morning email from Buy.com. Figures, they are advertising the TV for $3899.99 from Paul's TV. $200 rebate is applied. Want to buy this TV but told the wife would wait until end of this year. Now I wish I had kept my big mouth shut.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1T50th7JPDk

No difference really. The whole 120, 240hz stuff is a lot of marketing hype. See below for what AquoMotion does. Sam's has a much better return policy - 90 days.

http://www.sharpusa.com/ForHome/Home...echnology.aspx
AquoMotion 240

AquoMotion 240 Technology improves fast moving images by combining Sharp's 120Hz Fine Motion Enhanced Technology with 120-backlight scanning. Fine Motion Advanced processing creates and inserts 60 unique frames a second, which smoothes out edges that occur between frames in the original footage. The backlight scanning works with the panel refresh rate to further reduce perceived motion blur and improve overall clarity and picture quality.

Might be hard to find them by the end of the year, as they will be replaced by the 80" 3D model in the fall. Good news is it should be $3500 or less by then.

Hi guys after weeks of research on the 80 inch and trying to decide whether to get it online or get it local. I pulled the trigger and decided to go with my local HH, mainly because of the easier return policy. I was able to get them down to 3900.00.

Jest pulled the trigger at Buy dot com for 3899 (with free coupon). This is my second time canceling and re-ordering to catch the ever falling rate. It's like the mortgage rates :') Few days ago Amazon was least with 4249.

I am very interested in the 80 incher, with my only real concern being motion blur. I have only owned plasmas and don't think I have ever watched a sporting event on a LCD. Is there anyone here who has watched sports on this tv? IF so, please let me know if motion blur was an issue. Thanks.

I usually turn off all that Film Effect mode and Motion Enhancement technology, and don't see any problems in sports: Basketball, Football, Hockey.

Since the manual does not mention it, I suspect it does not
have support for PIP, but it would be great if any owners
could confirm it either way.

The LC-80LE632U does not support picture-in-picture. I have a PVR that does so it is not a problem for me.

So I'm having the TV delivered tonight, looking to get it mounted & set up next weekend if I'm lucky. I'm debating between the flat mount Suzook was kind enough to mention (Sanus LL11-B1) and tryign to find one that has a slight amount of tilt (but no need for articulation). The reason I'm thinking this is I can envision a time when the kids are sitting on the floor in front of the future couch seating (it's an empty room now so I don't have exact measurements on anything) where a slight downward tilt could be helpful. On the other hand I really like the thought of a flush & tight look.

Any mount suggestions that have a minor tilt but don't stick way out (perhaps a tall order for an 80" TV??) Does anybody know whether this one would work (Prime eligible @ Amazon so I know I could have it by the desired weekend install!)

http://www.amazon.com/Sanus-Systems-...pr_product_top

Thanks.

[2nd edit] This one looks like it might fit the bill....found through going to Sanus' site first.

that looks to be a bullet proof mount ! It's rated for more Lbs than your 1st one !
I put that in my Amazon wish list , along with this 80"-er ......Just waiting on till the price of the Display drops Now !!! I hope Amazon will get a decent price on them directly sold by Amazon.com ,Paul's throws in state income taxes, In Cali that is a wad'o'cash !
Moving the Sharp 60" in to the bedroom when I get the Beast !!

Guys,
I plan to buy this tv. Will one of you provide the dimensions of the box this monster comes in? I'm unable to find those specs on the net.

Thanks,
David

The box size was listed earlier on this thread. A search should discover it.
I just purchased the Sharp 80 today at my local box store. The guy in the red shirt had it for $3999.

The VMPL3 appears to be overkill. It is recommended by Sanus for this set, but you don't need the additional low-profile brackets, nor the 280lbs. capacity.
Sanus rates the VMPL50A for 150lbs. - adequate, inexpensive, but not recommended for this set, yet most likely adequate.
In the middle is the LT25 rated at 175lbs., recommended for the 80" and its currently $99.99 delivered at Amazon. For the additional $40, I'd go with this one.

I just picked my 80 inch up today from HH. It is replacing by 52 inch XBR3. I had this tv wall mounted and just pulled it down and are getting ready to replace it with the 80. The wall mount I purchased it from Sams Club about 2years ago it is rated for up to 65 inches but the VESA 600x400 pattern is supported and it supports up to 200lbs and it has manual tilt as well.

It bolts up perfect to the back of the tv. I ended up having to go to the hardware store and by new bolts as my old kit only had M8X25 This set rerquires M8X14 to avoid damaging the tv. I was planning on mounting it tonight but will have to move my mount up 4 inches due to size. I would check there if you have one near you. Attached is a pic of my wall mount.

Recheck your settings. you must be doing something wrong if you think it looks grey

Play with the settings yourself... I would leave all the color settings on default, for me I find they look pretty natural.

Some sources need the +2 color though for skin tones to look more realistic, other sources need the color to be back at 0.

If you want more pop, leave Active Contrast on. Lower back light level to -4 if you are seeing any grey, and then increase brightness to get back to how you like it. I leave contrast in the 30's some where...

Sharpness I leave on 0 unless it is a really good source like BluRay, or video game, then I can go up to +2.

I have ordered and canceled three times during the recent price dip. Went thru a lot of drama and grief. What I learned was it's much better to go directly to the vendor servicing the order, instead of the front end (Amazon, Buy.com etc) store fronts. Had great ordering experience with Pauls TV.
