Let's hope they have native DTS(or pass through)/.m4a support, unlike the 2011 lineup.

Hi,

Almost everything I would want from an aesthetic point of view - just hope that QC & PQ is worthy enough & of sufficient standard next year!

So the top model LM9600 has "Full Nano LED". What does this mean in reality? Does it have a full array LED backlight?

Probably, yes. LG has been talking about their Nano LED filter for some time now claming that it enables them to create "backlit" local dimming in many zones.

These look like those sexy Samsung panels that can't seem to get the lighting right. I'd rather have a 2" bezel and good lighting than these bezel designs with crappy edge lighting when there is no edge. Unless of course they improved on what Samsung has, design wise.

post #1 sounds exactly what i read just before the lx9500 came out, which turned out to be junk panel, then lw9800 came out which got horrible CNET review and is now discontinued, now LG hype'ing some more junk.

i wonder how LG will market these new panels in 2012 with the new HDMI.org licensing coming in 2012.

I agree Kid, what LG promised in 2011 turned out or failed to produce except a few sets in other countries that never made it to the market here in the U.S.

While I am Not a fan if it, LG has moved passive 3D into the mainstream. Let's see.if they get the jump on OLED.

Their LW980 won second bestTV Of 2011 losing only to the VT30 at UK CNET. Many people have been happy.with their.edgelit passive sets, let's see what 2012 brings.

LG is years behind in OLED technology, and, if lw9800 was such a good panel why has it been discontinued? feature upgrades can be done by way of firmware. i am truly baffled (well, not really). getting a "jump" on a product doesnt mean so much anymore, people are after quality for at these prices.

Amen! I even had a thread going about this but it didn't draw much interest so I thought I was alone in the idea. A plasma with passive is what I want! I just wondered if there are technical reasons as to why it doesn't exist. So I am going to give in and buy and LCD despite my overwhelming preference of plasma.

Personally I think the LG passive 3D technology is hard to beat. It's beautiful if setup correctly.

LG has been notorius for vaperware and late year launches, marketing one thing and launching something very different...I'll wait to see a production model of any flagship line before paying much attention to anything at CES.

yeah, LG and ces in general is like detroit car show, all the one-off stuff that is more like future vision, and then they manufacture models that are just upgrades to last years model.

and until i see otherwise, active glasses 3D produces better/clearer 3D than any passive.

Talked to a CS rep at LG and he told me the Nano is releasing aprox on April 14 in the US and there will a 47 inch version. I hope it does happen this time, it pissed me off that they didn't release the 47" LW9800 in the United States.
