Friend just purchased one at Costco..I have never heard of this brand...I did a google search and it has good reviews but it makes me nervous that she bought an off brand tv the caliber of Insignia or Westinghouse...could someone enlighten me on the quality and repair record....thanks in advance..

Never heard of a Hannaspree, but there are several threads/comments on this forum about Hannspree.

Hannspree is a budget, low quality, off brand set. Consider it a throw-away when it has problems. It will cost more to repair than it's purchase price.

Same for a Hannaspree.
Great help BJ.

Avoid. Better off with a Walmart Sanyo or better yet pay a few bucks for a lower-end name brand (Panasonic, Sharp etc.) Purchased a Hannspree computer monitor from NewEgg & it junked-out within 5 days, I was lucky enough that NG took the return back.

I agree with all of you..I gulped when she said she bought a Hannaspree ......she said it was the least expensive so she chose price over quality...I suggested that she take it back and get a Vizio for about a hundred bucks more....the cheap comes out expensive when you purchase stuff that way..she also said she could not afford the extended warranty...it was thirty dollars....I wrote her a check...now at least she is flying with a net..

I had second thoughts also but after reading many reviews I purchased a 25" and a 32" Hannspree at Costco, both are 1080i. That was six months ago and have been very happy with them.
