Ok. So i took a chance and purchased a broke vf552xvt. the story is the house got struck by lightning. The TV would not power on or do anything. So i went ahead and replaced the power supply board. TV now turns on! however it does this white to amber sequence and eventually the screen comes on with a big V in the center. after about two minutes it powers off and goes back to white and amber sequence and repeats continually. I think i have a bad main (pc board). The TV was 100$ plus a 70$ power supply board. I think the TV is worth the 150 or so for the main board. My question is does anyone disagree? does anyone think its not the main board. by the way checked the three soldered on fuses on the board are good (damn! hopping for an easy fix).

It might be the main board since that tells the TV what to do. Don't know what the problem is but something's making it keep shutting down and re-starting. It does the re-starting thing when it gets "locked up", so sounds like it's always getting locked up right when it powers on.

Think so. Power supply is new and I get a screen so that should rule out an inverter board and x y board and the screen. That leaves the main board.

In case anyone was interrested. I put the video board in and the tv works great.
