I need to replace my Toshiba 65" DLP and looking for an 65" LCD model. So my short of list of TVs are down to 4 models. I'd like to get the best bang for my buck right now and don't want to really spend to much if I don't really gain all any more and plus I'm not really too much into video settings, etc., but just need a new TV with great picture compared to my old DLP.

The 4 models are:

LG 65LW6500 - Best price is $2300

Toshiba 65UL610U - Best price is $2000

Samsung UN65D8000 - Best price is $3000

Sony XBR-65HX929 - Best price is $4200

So out of those 4 which would make sense to get right now based on price and good performance? I just need to find something that upgrades from a DLP and not really looking into all the ins and outs of black levels, shadow details, etc.

Any suggestions on which would be best for my situation?

I'm leaning towards either the Toshiba or LG one (the only problem with the LG is that it is like 1" bigger than the media niche opening that I have in my family room so it would be sticking outside compared to the other 3 models). If anyone has one of these TVs or have compared them at all if you can give your feedback that would be very helpful.

But is it worth it to be paying almost double compared to the LG or Toshiba ones? I mean will I notice that much of difference in say HD picture quality between the Sony and the other two models? Is it like night and day difference?

if you don't value black levels all that much, then no. if you do and can afford it the 65hx929 is a killer set. night and day difference...black levels yes, overall pq from a great hd feed...no...however the 929 has a great vp.. by far the best of the bunch..

Thanks for your feedback. I'm wondering if off angle viewing will be the same for all of these sets or will one be a bit better though I doubt any of these come even close to a plasma set though.
