I currently have my Xbox 360 hooked up via HDMI and in Game Mode on my Samsung UN55D6000.

The default setting in game mode for Dynamic Contrast is Medium. Although I like how the picture looks by putting it on High but was not sure if this adds input lag.I have read some places that it needs to be completely Off for just about anything, but the picture just doesnt pop and almost looks like the colors become dull.

Here are my current Game Mode settings

Backlight: 12
Contrast: 95
Brightness: 45
Sharpness: 40
Color: 50

DNRff
Mpg NR: off
hdmi black level: low
ampff(greyed)

Black tone: off
Dynamic Contrast: High(medium looks decent too)
Shadow Detail: 0
Gamma: 0
Edge enhancement: off

Any function such as dynamic processing that requires TV video chip processing causes the lag to increase. If the default game mode setting for sharpness 40 if not I would set it to zero.

The default was actually 50. I toned it down just a tad. I do like the sharp picture(call me crazy). 0 is too blurry. I think 10-20 is probably best though.

I am guessing to get the picture correct with DC off I will need to use a calibration disc while in game mode?

IN game mode you will always trade degradation of PQ caused by less processing in order to reduce lag time. You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want to calibrate game mode suit yourself I suggest you follow the calibration procedure in the latest issue of Consumer Reports.

Hey u got that right. Thats just life isnt it. Game mode actually does not degrade the quality that bad on this set. Hopefully lag will become non existent one day no matter what processing is being done hehe. If anyone else could share their game mode settings for this set thatd be great! Thanks.
