Hello.

I am building a simple digital signage display based on the LG 32LV355C.
I just need the tv to turn-on by itself and play a single file from USB continuously.
The TV can turn-on and off by itself automatically at a certain time and it allows to select any input... except USB.

I have been told by the sales rep that it would be possible to program the TV to do this through RS-232 but he could not provide any details about the process and necessary software to do the job.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Rod

A remote with programmable macro and timer capability should do it.

Thanks for your reply. Are there inexpensive remotes able to do that?

A remote will have to remain within RF/IR distance. The easiest and cheapest may be an inexspensive portable dvd/ USB player you can tuck behind the display and just run it on repeat...other than that with rs-232 you are getting into control systems.

edit: with the portable player you could use a power sensing power strip that would allow the dvd/usb player to power on and off with the display.
