I spoke directly to Sharp about this specific item, and it was mentioned that it was discused to be a feature, and was even stated in some press releases but they decided not to add it to the 632, as the 844 was the current "flagship" the higher refresh rates are not enough to warrant the extra money - the Full Array is most certainly enough to warrant the extra 500.

Not sure what they were smoking but the 632 has full array. Get over it

You might should trust what some of the people here have to say
The 632 is a full array as is the 844. The 632 is the 2011 model and the 844 is the 2012 model. If you want flagship go to the Elite thread.
Some of the differences are the 240hz, 3D, and the 844 has a 10 point grayscale adjustment. I'm sure there are others.

ok thanks - I am ordering the 844 to replace my POS SXRD 70 XBR2 - so pissed off with this #$@ SONY! This was my second Sony in less than 4 years - I hope this Sharp will give me at least 10-15 years... I have CRT sets that are 35 years old and still have an excellent picture.

If I'm understanding all of the bells and whistles between Sharps' offerings, If I want a 2012 70" tv with the same features that are in this 80" 844 model, I have to go to the 'Elite' variety or wait for a 945u if it indeed does come? Is this correct.

Thank you,
Tony

I don't think that any of the 2012 70" are full array but I'm not sure.
So I think you are correct.

I just got 844 today and it's sitting inside my cabinet. Although there was slight damage to the box but TV appears to be fine.

Just taking a quick look I don't see any stuck pixels or other screen issues. In fact right out of the box with no adjusting picture looks great.

I do have couple questions I'd like to get feedback on.
1. Currently TV is sitting in my cabinet on the stand that it came with but TV is tilting backwards about 10 degrees. How do I tilt this forward?

2. While watching a movie via netflix on the screen intermittently OPC thing with green leaf shows up. What is that and could I stop this from coming up?

I was worried about buying a TV that wasn't made by Sony after buying nothing but Sony over the last 20 years or so and one that I was not able to see it in person but all the information from others on this thread really helped with the decision process. Thank you.

LL11 is the way to go. I have my 632 mounted on it since October

On another note I was in BB today listening to a Mongolia guy tell a customer the 55 inch Sammy led was way better than the 844....why....because of the pixels.....they are way better on the Samsung. Nevermind the customer was talking him he wanted at least 70 inches..... I laughed out so loud the customer asked me why I laughed. I showed him this site.....i hate BB

Those stand are rated at only 150 lb and 125 lb. I wouldn't trust my display with that

I looked on Sharp's site for the extended warranty and didn't find it.
Could someone point me there?

I plan to call by the end of the week and get it.

On another note .... I am having a heck of a time setting up the wireless on this TV. My wireless router is running WPA Personal, and when I try to setup the TV to reach it, it continues to say the test "failed"

anyone else have issues with setting up the wireless?

I selected "User" setting currently and it really looks great with defaults. It's not even blu-ray and just netflix streaming and still picture really looks awesome.

I figured out that OPC setting is auto dimming and brightness. Other than it being annoying when it comes up it seems to be doing descent job as far as adjustment go.

got wireless up and running ...

had to switch to WPA2 instead of just WPA for some reason?

Anyways ... 1 other thing.

The HDMI #1 input seems REAL sloppy, like it wants to fall out. Were you guys able to secure your HDMI cable to make sure it doesn't get easily pulled out?

Mine was too - but a little slow. I ended up buying the WD LiveWire Powerline after reading some great reviews. Cost is under 80 bucks and it has 4 ethernet connections on 2 separate boxes. My TV has an HTPC, PS3, and Aios media player hooked up to it so I'm using all 4 ports. It has been dead reliable so far (3 months and counting....) and the speed is great. It's rated at 152Mb/Sec with the included software.
My Sharp is almost instantaneous with the internet apps. Highly recommended.

nevermind ... found them.

Suzook's settings on the 632, were great. On this 844, not so good ....

Very soft picture, and blue/green's both seem off.
