I saw the 745 at Fry's this weekend and I was impressed with it. Not sure why we've heard so little about this model? I'm waiting on some official reviews but I'm starting to think they aren't going to be any. Will still probably pull the trigger on this one in a couple months if not sooner.

Do any of you fine folks have any reasons why I shouldn't? Not interested in the 945 since that's out of my price range.

I just saw Paul's (@Amazon) offer the 70" <$2500 last night, and I was this || close to pull the trigger. This morning it goes back up to $2600 range but still dropping during the day. I promised myself if it drops below $2500 again, I'll pull the trigger this time. We'll see.....

This is one of the set's I am considering. The price from Pauls's via Amazon is tempting but one to see some reviews first.

O....K..... I just can't resist (<$2500) anymore. Just pull the trigger!!

This is going to replace my old 1st gen edge lite LED 55" Sammy U55B6000. I would highly assume it'll be a good replacement (not just for the size). We'll see in about a week or two.

Just saw the price and now under $2500. Seems like a great price. Please post some pics and impressions when you get the set.

Very cool. Hurry up and post some impressions.

I'm not seeing it under 2600 on Amazon? I'm checking the mobile version of Amazon though so it may not show up.

Congrats on your purchase I'm not too far behind.

Got one for 2499 earlier today. Last one was as low as 2466 but it's gone now. Low prices were from Paul's fulfilled by Amazon.. Anyway, I hope I like it; 30 days to try it.

Hi,
I don't know if this is the right place to ask, so please tell me if it's not.
Got my 70'' 745 2 days ago. Seems really great, I only have 2 problems:
1. I can't sync my 3d glasses to it. I got these glasses:

http://www.amazon.com/GBSG03-JP-iTre.../ref=pd_sim__5

2. When I try to play a side by side 3d movie the TV just displays the 2 images side by side and not as a 3d image.

Help, please.

Hagai.

Solved problem #2 by changing the auto 3d mode to "mode2".

I'm no expert at all in LED TVs, my Sammy DLP served me well for many years but recently kicked. I had it ISF calibrated way back when and have loved it.

Anyway, got this LED and have been trying to adjust the settings myself. Everything seems artificially vibrant to me though I have turned down temperaure and tried to reduce that effect in other fashions. It got better but everything still seems saturated and a little too blue. I suspect a calibrator could fix that.

Worse, random text on screen like from commercials seems to sort of wobble almost. I tried to see if that was "judder" but i'm not sure. I watched South Park the other day and many of the background parts of the screen would have this wobble at various times. Not sure how to address that and would love feedback if anyone sees something like this or this is a general risk with LED?

If you buy directly from paultv website you can use coupon code "march24" to knock it down to 2499.99, it also includes 2 3d glasses. Not sure if it makes much of a difference between amazon marketplace or site directly.

Check this link and all 10 pages to the article for that matter...gives some very good insite to HD and LEDs and all the issues that accompany almost all brands/models. Imws posted this on a different owners thread, in relation to questions relative to the same topic.

http://www.tweakguides.com/HDTV_10.html

To answer your question in a genreal way, YES, it is a general issue with almost all "edge-Lit" LEDs on the market today.

Thanks for the info. Interestingly I had to change DirecTV receivers as I had an older one that wouldn't pass 3d signal. The newer one HR22 seems to have cleaned up some of the display wobble I was having so feeling much better about the TV.

I am having the same 3d problem as hagai_sela above in terms of sync but assuming I can figure that out I think this TV will be worth keeping for me once calibrated.

Fry's Electronics sells a LC-60C7450U model. Does anybody know where I can get more info on that model. Google doesn't really have much results on it

Should be exactly the same as the 745. They often create faux model numbers to avoid having to honor price matching policies. Not positive that's the case here, but possibly.

The 7450 they sell at Fry's is 240Hz and in my opinion has a different design. But I see no information in Sharp website

This may be a stupid question, but I had trouble finding a definitive answer online. Do these TVs have a matte or gloss finish on the screen glass?

I think you're right about the Aquamotion 240. Not sure if the design is different though.

too few posts for me to post a link, but google "sharp 7450u" and click the conns link.

The Canadian Sharp site has info on all the 2012 panels:

http://www.sharp.ca/en-CA/ForHome/HomeEntertainment/LCDTV/3DTVs.aspx?prefill=1&ve={127761BB-DD3E-46EA-80F6-56D81F233FCC}

That part number sounds like a unit sold out of stores like Costco, Sams, etc.
LC-70C7450U
If this were an item sold out of BBY or Sears, the part# would read:
LC-70LE745U

Here's the link to Sharp USA official site...for whatever reason they make it very hard to find.

its listed as only 120hz. But I'm assuming the aqua motion splits it to 240hz...

I just pulled the trigger on the LC-60LE745U to replace an aging 60" Sony SXRD RPTV (The last Sony made) whose bulb just went out again. I ordered through Amazon (Paul's TV) as it was the best price I could find. I'm excited to not have to replace bulbs and am looking forward to all the new features, not to mention the additional brightness for daytime viewing in our well-lit family room. Though I have several 3D Blu-rays, I don't have a 3D player and therefore will not be doing 3D for now until I can get a new player and glasses down the road. I will post impressions once it has arrived and is set up.

I don't think it splits. The advertisement and the labels on TV have 240HZ

A lot of times the manufacturers will use things like that as a marketing tool...allows them to mark up the prices. Very little regulations in the industry.

At a local retailer here in the Dallas area, they have one 70' Sharp LED listing at $2300 (120hz split to 240hz, marketed on the box as 240hz though), the exact same unit, all the same specs accept its a true 240hz, is lising at $2900)...just an example.

Ok just got my LC-70LE745U yesterday. Got it setup and watched/tinkered with it for two hours last night. So far, I am very pleased. I looked hard to see any of the common lcd/edge lit led maladies commonly discussed and there were none that I perceived. Have not looked at 3d yet, but that is secondary for me. One thing I will note is that this model is 120hz and does NOT have Aquomotion 240. I know Sharp's website says it does, but I had downloaded the manual last week and based on reading that, I wasn't expecting anything other than 120hz. I watched some NBA and NHL games last night and did not see any objectionable motion blurring. BTW I use DTV so, good quality hd in. Will be ordering a blue ray player and cali disk soon. I did adjust the basic settings last night, turning off all the helper stuff and reducing contrast, color level, sharpness and backlight. Picture was too vivid for me with the out of the box user setting. Bought this from Paul's TV on Amazon. Came from Phoenix, AZ to SW GA via ABF with no problems.
