Another question, can you charge the glasses from your pc usb ports? I know from flying rc that lipo batteries require a certain current for a certain amount of time or you can cause a fire or damage the batteries so need to know what you guys use before I try it.

@Teisco

Yes you can charge the glasses via a PC.

I was able to charge all 4 of my AN3DG20B glasses at once on my desktop PC.

I know I've read that the sharp 70" TV's do lean forward on the TV stand. Someone in another thread called Sharp and they confirmed it was normal. Sorry can't remember the thread i read though.

Thanks very much, now I have another small problem; when I try to charge the glasses the light just blinks and does not go out or glow solid.

By the way, after just one night with mostly on the fly settings I really think this is the best contrast I have ever had with any tv, tube, lcd or led. The colors are also amazing and vibrant without over saturation. I watched a netflix streaming movie last night and spent most of the time looking at the picture and when it was done I was not sure what the movie was about, lol.

Monoprice is the bomb!!! what a great tip ordered my cables Tuesday night, received them yesterday. They work great, the price is great and so is the service!!!

I brought my bacjlight down to standard. Turning it up does good things to foreground images but bad things to background images. It also made the tolerance for viewing angle nonexistant. I do love that the stand swivels.

I just placed my order last night on Amazon for the 70" model. Beach Camera is the seller. Looking forward to getting it next week. I currently have a Samsung 52" TV bought in 2008 which will move to my living room. The new TV will replace it.

Here's a shot of my existing setup (minus the new HTPC that is there now)

Yes, it can come out and tilt although I never use it. It's similar to this one (I got it at Costco). http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o01_s00_i00

I did order this mount for the living room which I'll move the Samsung to. I plan to hang it above the fireplace mantle.

Too new. They only hit store shelves a couple of weeks ago so there aren't very many "in the wild".

I love mine, minor clouding but every lcd I have had so far had that. One problem that does bother me but not enough to exchange is the middle is brighter than the top and bottom so pure white using a pc shows this flaw and makes graphic work questionable.

Otherwise best pic of any tv I have ever had.

Ran across this TV in 70" yesterday while shopping for the Samsung un60es8000. The display unit in my local Costco was actually quite stunning looking.

Now I'm in a hard debate if I should get the Samsung ($3200 for 60" with 4 pairs of glasses and a 3D BD player) or this unit for a few hundred less. Leaning for the 70" Sharp right now.

As of right now I'm running a Samsung LED-DLP 60" model from a few years back, it's the "slim projector" that is about 14" deep, but has a pretty outstanding picture. Hoping these thinner sets will at least live up to the image I'm getting now while adding features like 3D.

Thanks for all the info so far in the thread, it's helping a lot.

On my 70LE847 the sound keeps getting up to half a second out of sync with the picture. This set was a replacement for a 2011 Sharp 70LE732 set which did not exhibit this issue in almost a year using the same setup.
If I toggle the input on the TV through the sources, it fixes the sync or if I change the channel on the cable box then back it also fixes the sync. This is happening at least a couple of times a day while watching Time Warner Cable via HDMI from their set top box.
Using the TVs internal speakers only.

thx

Rich

I just received delivery of my LC-60LE847U on Friday. I am experiencing lip sync issues as well. I contacted Sharp about it. Mine will go out of sync utilizing the TV speakers after 10 mins. If I change the channel at times it will go back in sync. So, Sharp took me through the reset process and some service menus. That did not correct my problem. Today, I called back. The first Sharp technician told me that I should turn off my motion enhancement. I told him I should not have to do that to fix my problem and for the amount of money the TV costs that's not acceptable. I called back and talked another person and she told to try to swap out inputs. She told me I should not have HDMI 1 hooked to my Verizon FIOS box because it is an ACR input. My receiver is now HDMI 1 and FIOS HDMI 2. Not sure if this has corrected the problem. Have not been able to test it out. This is my 3rd TV in 3 months. The 810U and my recent 835U had no issues. Sharp replaced these for clouding issues.

Have you had any luck? If so it would be great to hear. Thanks!

When sharp replaces a tv do they require you to have the original box? I really want to get this large box gone but also want to be sure I can still exchange this tv if needed.

I am currently thinking about switching to the 70" 845u from Best Buy. Reading the thread leads me to believe this tv may meet my needs. The picture seems impressive in the store but who knows at home.

I have been watching a great 50" Panasonic Plasma 800U from 4 1/2 years ago, but we decided to move it into the bedroom. The replacement is currently a Samsung PN64E8000. This set has an awesome picture, great 3D, very fast smart apps, but after three units I still hear buzzing from the main seating position (during low background sound passages and using the apps) and it tends to make my head start to ring after a short period of time.

So some of my questions:
Is the Sharp 70" quiet running from say 5' away?
Do you find anything lacking in the picture?
Does it handle sports/quick motion well or does it pixelate etc...?
How good is the 3D?
Is there any gaming lag or other issues?
Would you buy it again?

My main sources are Fios and PS3 (games and blu-ray) thru my Onkyo 809 using ARC capable connection (for the smart apps).

I know each unit can be different, but always good to get feedback from current owners. I plan to use the IP control as well which is undocumented in the samsung unit.

"So some of my questions:
Is the Sharp 70" quiet running from say 5' away?"
- I don't hear any buzzing from the tv.

"Do you find anything lacking in the picture?"
- Some clouding with light black or dark gray screens.

"Does it handle sports/quick motion well or does it pixelate etc...?"
- Not sure, have not noticed if if does.

"How good is the 3D?"
- I have only tried one 3D movie so far and there was ghosting at the top in some scenes.

"Is there any gaming lag or other issues?"
- I play first person shooters like L4D2 and have not noticed any lag during fast movements.

"Would you buy it again?"
- I like the tv, best one I have had so far out of many LCD's. I has a dramatic picture full of contrast and nice black areas and yes, no buyer's remorse here.

TY for the quick feedback. I get the feeling that I may be compromising on picture, but buzz is unlivable. With my luck I will get cloud storms lol. I also need to determine if 3D matters that much to me.

The 70" and price point seem very good vs. the competition.

The 70 is dead silent. No high voltage transformer and no cooling fans.
Picture is very good. Only qualm I have is viewing angle. Its acceptable, but not the best I've seen.
Native 240 Hz panel. I don't watch sports, but I haven't seen any motion artifacts or smearing during blu-ray or games.
Zero lag.
3D is fine. Best in class, IMO....limited by current technology....

My 70 had obvious clouding on 2% or darker fields out of the box, but it's very subtle once calibrated and not visible at all during regular viewing. If you spend a lot of time in a cave watching credits roll it might be an issue for you. Otherwise....

Yes, I do spend too much time in the cave watching the credits, lol. Great line and very correct. You really only see the clouding during a light black screen with nothing much else on it. I use the tv for my pc monitor and when I first get a new lcd or led in this case, I go into my paint program and whip up some 1920x1080 grahics in shades of black and gray and other colors and set them as my desktop to see any picture problems.

The main thing that bothers me about the set is the uneven white screen. It is bright in the center and darker at the top and bottom. You will only notice this if you view a total white screen.

That's the edge lighting ....... I'd wait if that bothers you. See what the 945 will be like it's suppose to be full back lighted like the 80" but also L/D like the Elite

Hey everyone, I have been looking for awhile for a nice 60" LED TV and think the Sharp LC-60C8470U might be the best way to go but I was wondering if anyone else has the TV yet and could provide an opinion. I received a link from Sharp which compares most of the models being discussed (847U, 845U and 8470U) and it gives the differences between all 3 and I would assume the same differences apply with the 70"s as well. The 8470U is on special at Costco for $1999.99 which makes it look even better. Please let me know any opinions on the models listed.

http: //www.sharpusa .com/ForHome/HomeEntertainment/LCDTV/Compare.aspx?products=7C7BE7115D8D1D7C5F67C0A9DA5E3E2E|AC188 C9E756B5C08E1301FCC2D9A0D21|66B1425A98681108BCA079B80881A41D

Since I am not allowed to post a link until 3 posts I left a few spaces in there.

Ah-ha! So the 847 is superior to the 845 in regard to having Quad Pixel Plus II and 3D Depth enhancer.

Since I have the time to wait, I'll see how/if the 945 comes out, and see where prices go for the 847/0

I am new to this site and I appreciate all the good info here. I too have been waiting on the 70LE925U to see if it is worth the hype based on price point even though I don't know what that will be. I have noticed prices dropping steadily on the 70LE847U and I am about ready to pull the trigger based on this site and pricing. My question is Costco has this unit on sale this week but there model number is modified as 70C8470 which includes two pair of 3D glasses in the box. When I have checked about glasses on the 70LE847U I have been told that they were included and others say they are not. Do glasses come in the box like Costco or are they throwing them in with the purchase. It is hard to compare prices without this knowledge since they can want up to $200 extra for glasses. Thanks

It looks like TagsDad answered my question with the sharpusa link he posted. If anyone has an idea of what the initial price on the 945 will be, give me a shout out.
