Is there a PC mode in setting for this TV for HDMI connections?

Just back from Fry's at Downers Grove IL store. $899 for 47LM6700, as marked in the price tag. 6 pairs of 3D glasses are included in the original package. Salesman tried to add another 4 pairs glasses, but the ordering system wouldn't allow it. In store it is side by side with Samsung 55D6500, I have to say picture quality is much better on this LG. As we all know IPS panel has better color reproduction than PVA panel, that's hardly surprising.

I'm having issues with my 5600 and am considering returning it and buying the 6700 if they're not easily resolved.

My major concern with the 6700 is the glossy screen. How much of an issue is it with glare? I have windows directly opposite my TV and have a bit of glare during the day even with the 5600's matte screen. If the 6700 is substantially worse, that could be a dealbreaker.

I got the LM6700 yesterday. I was able to get it for $830 at Sears by price matching Fry's deal this week. Anyway, I came here looking for help calibrating the TV. Mine had terrible color out of the box, and I couldn't seem to fix it manually. I was going back and forth looking here and messing with the TV when I tried the auto calibration for the TV and it fixed it right up.

I was also worried about not being able to off the TrueMotion, but am watching TV right now and have no problems.

if you guys had to decide between the 47inch lm6700, or the 55inch lw5600,
which would you purchase?

im in it for the 2d & 3d PQ. don't care much about the wifi features or anything like that.

most of the viewing will be blurays 2d/3d, a little bit of tv, and a little bit of gaming.

Anyone having any issues with banding on the 47lm6700?

I've noticed faint vertical black bars when watching a bright moving image like a sky, hockey rink or soccer field.

I also have some light bleeding particularly on the left top-most part of the screen which never really bothered me until I started watching Game of Thrones last night.

I might go return/exchange this unit as defective however I'm worried I might get a worse one. Everyone's TV is performing well? Any issues with banding at all?

I have the 47LM7600 and I have the vertical banding when the camera scans left or right. I really notice it on HGTV and bright scenes. It kind of sucks. I have local dimming on low but it does it on medium and high but when I turn it off it clears up, maybe just a real faint one when its off.

I had some flashlighting clouding that got worse so I exchanged it and the 2nd one it 100% better just a little clouding in the corners. The local dimming works damn well on that.

I've noticed vertical banding, or DSE, on very bright backgrounds as well, but only on very bright uniform scenes. First noticed it last night while watching Frozen Planet. This is different from my experience with the Samsung panels that showed banding, both vertical and horizontal, on mid-to-dark scenes. The LG I can live with because it happens very infrequently, where with the Samsung, it was present almost 80% of the time.

I did check out the passive 3D this past weekend. I used Verizon FIOS On Demand, HBO, Green Lantern. WOW was I pleasantly surprised. A bright detailed punchy picture with incredible depth and no ghosting whatsoever. Also, I did not see any evidence of loss of resolution that seemed to plague the passive 3D LG TVs last year. The passive glasses are very light and easy to get used to.

I may be watching more 3D after all!!!

Read this in the 7600 thread.

So I called LG customer service. Guess what .. they acknowledged that they sold these TV's as 240 but the True Motion is not working right now and it will not change the refresh rate. So you may be toggling between the different True Motion selections but the truth is the refresh rate is still 60hz. They said their engineering department is working on a software fix. So let me get this straight, I purchased the higher end TV because I wanted the ability to get 240hz ( I know internally ) and this tv was sold as a 240 but right now no one is getting a refresh rate greater then 60hz. Who knows when and if they will ever change the software.

I knew it wasn't right. With the Sony there was a huge difference when selecting the different true motion options. This TV is a farce. I don't know if I should return it now ..but this made of broke the straw.

You have to go in the store with an add from Fry's and ask for a price match. Tell them to ask how much the LM6700 is. That is what I did and it worked. Though for many it hasn't worked. Search for LM6700 on Slickdeals.net for more info.

Hmm, this is interesting. I was watching a movie tonight and swear I saw "Ghosting", or whatever it is called when you see a bit of an after immage. I had thought LG had come up with some super slick trumotion technology that didn't give the opera effect.

Can anyone help me? I just can't get the color right on my set. When I took it out of the box it was horrible. Everything was way over saturated and the tint was way off. I used AVS HD to calibrate it on my own, but it still wasn't good. I then used the Picture Wizard a few times trying different things, but nothing gets it just right. I have it set the best I can now, but skin tone just doesn't look natural. Any suggestions on what to do?

It seems that for many the color is great out of the box. I am wondering if there is something wrong with unit.

Check the thread. He returned one that didn't have it enabled.

And apparently some 6700 owners don't see an option to adjust it.
LG acknowledged something but it seems like they are mixed up as to the model.

Is this Tru Motion problem something that we think will be fixed?

I don't follow TVs close enough to know how often LG releases firmware updates to TVs. Based on all the comments that is what sounds like the problem, which isn't a big deal to me if they release multiple firmware updates for these TVs over its life as I'm sure it will fix it, but if LG as a brand rarely does updates then I will be more concerned.

i relly don't know, but i assume that if it isn't fixed through firmware, Lg will replace the product. like i said, im not sure, im just assuming.

I think the LM6700 is way to expensive for such a low black level and simply much too high input lag.

I installed the update today. Didn't add a trumotion toggle option

I'm really thinking of returning the TV. Playing NBA 2k12 on this TV just hurts my eyes because the motion blur is pretty noticeable.

I really don't see anything new after the update. Perhaps someone a little more observant will see something I don't. I can't find any info on the website about it either.

just set up my 6700, and i cant seem to get the colors right. my older plasma looks better when it comes to colors accuracy.

for 3d, i can tell the resolution is lower, but the crosstalk is A LOT better than my plasma with active glasses.

as far as trumotion 120hz, there is NO option to turn it on or off, and it looks like it is off. that sucks, because i like to watch nature documentary type shows with 120hz.

overall i have mixed feelings about this tv. the 3d is good, but 2d is not as good as my older plasma.

not sure if i should keep it or return it. i got it for a total of $839 after the 10% pricematch to frys electronics.
