You can change the power failure behavior in the service menu.
Meaning after a power failure the TV will always come back on or stay off. The default is to remember what state it is in and return to that.
I prefer it to stay off after a power failure. Lots of times the power is not stable after a power failure, so I would prefer the TV to stay off, which should be safer since some circuits will be isolated. And if the power goes off for a long time, I might go to sleep and then when it comes back on the TV will come on.
You can also use hospitality mode which allows you to set the input on power up, minimum and maximum volume, turn on volume, and lock out the controls and menus, etc. You can allow no menu access at all or block the picture menu and settings. And you can set the analog inputs (or PC input which the 5300 does not have) to music mode. Meaning you can select an analog input even if it has no video signal to listen to music with the backlight off (or on if you want). This mode does blink the power LED which is annoying, but I will be removing it soon.
