The owner's thread for this TV is getting pretty long so I thought it would be useful to have a separate thread just dedicated to settings. Many people are now getting this TV with the price having dropped so low and it's nice to have one place with everyone's settings to compare.

For those looking for the owner's thread:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1363281

The pricing thread:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1386054

Let's keep this one on-topic and dedicated to settings.

i agree...i tried those initially, and appreciate his work and posting them. however, my set rejected them in a big way. suzook's posting which was done by a top tier isf calibrator look great. at least on mine.

The LOW color temp is not nearly that accurate out of the box on any of the 632 sets that I have seen (nor based upon the feedback I have been getting).

Jason

Hi Jason..thanks for the most recent MOVIE settings you posted on the 70/632 owners thread. How come no one has posted them on here yet? I didn't want to do that since you are the original poster and didn't know if I could. But do post your settings here for the most recent MOVIE mode which I believe in being the most accurate you can get on a 70" 632. I am now an accuracy converted person! Thanks!

I don't believe you can save more than one set of values for each mode, i.e. Movie, Auto, Standard, Game... Of course the settings for each of those modes can be different.

I just entered Suzook's settings into standard mode because my movie mode had a previous setting i wanted to compare. I can switch his settings into movie mode but what's the difference?

Hey Guys, quick question.

Do you watch everything via Movie Mode or continually switch modes depending on the programming?

I use the settings provided here by Jason for my MOVIE mode when watching bluray movies. When watching Uverse cable, my only other source, I tweaked Standard mode to try to get the best picture I can since sources are all over the place in terms of PQ (from diff networks) as mentioned by Jason as well. So STANDARD with slight tweaking (mostly defaults but turned off SOE) for cable and MOVIE mode for bluray.

The people on the Aquos help line recommend the "Dynamic" setting. What are the thoughts on this? I notice most use movie mode, which appears more subdued.

Bottom line... try the various settings out there and see where you end up. If you want assurance of accuracy hire a Pro to do an in-home CAL or go the DIY route and buy the proper gear.

Jason

Your somewhat right. But for those with even a semi light controlled room everyone seems.to like those settings I posted. If it was anyone other than Kevin I would have never likely posted them

Since Mr.Miller's settings are from an 80" 632 then as I said there are some drastic set to set variables between the 632's (regardless of size). So with that said it matters not where any settings originated (as long as they were done properly) because we have enough evidence that there are indeed variables and if people wish to plug in settings from the net they would be best served to try various sets and hope for some luck.

Beyond this people should not be thinking they are now seeing the best possible image from THEIR display by simply plugging in numbers off the net (not that anyone was implying this). The full potential of each display will only be obtained by doing an actual calibration on that display.

Best of luck to everyone trying the various settings, hopefully they help add to your enjoyment and get you in the ballpark while building an appreciation for display accuracy.

Jason

You dont have to convince or try and school me about ISF, I have had them done 6 times over the last several years with my panels. but if the settings posted here get u happy then its a place to start. If you really want studio reference then get an isf. Either way it doesnt take much to get the 80 to give excellent pq on your own
