I am a bit shocked that their flagship model only has a 12 month warranty.
I would hate to be spending $3k again for a new one.
I am not a guy who typically buys an extended warranty for electronics, but this TV has me thinking that I might.
Since I purchased it from Amazon, there doesn't seem to be any warranty to buy, unlike Fry's if I had bought it from them.
I have found squaretrade they offer an extended warranty on just about everything.

What is everyone's thought on this?

That's my plan...Squaretrade...Got info from Costco...for my 55ES7500...

Anybody know if there is a market for the stand? Or an idea of where to sell besides eBay? I have the tv on the wall and I was wondering I could sell the stand?

I would imagine there isn't much demand since they all come with stands....

What do people do with the stand then? I hate the idea of just throwing it away. I don't want to store it for 5 years and I pretty sure I will never use it

Hey, all.

I'm considering purchasing the UN60ES8000 to replace my dinosaur Samsung HLS6188 DLP (pre-3D, pre-24fps).

My biggest concern is input lag for gaming. My DLP has zero lag, but my Samsung UN46D8000, last year's LED-backlit LCD, has so much lag that it's unplayable with first person shooters (Battlefield 3).

So, how is the input lag on the UN60ES8000? I didn't find any comments in the big lag thread.

How is Amazon's return policy if I need to return the set?

What kind of wall mount are you using? I can't seem to find the Samsumg "Hockey Puck" mounts that they used to sell with the 2011 version of this monitor. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

I really liked this mount for the price. I got it for around 30 bucks on lightning deal on Amazon. It allows for a big tilt and it is still slim enough for my tastes. That being said it does not secure very well to the bottom of the mount. I might try a different one and use this one for the bedroom so that I can get one that pans and tilts.

Do you have a 55 inch model? Do you have any idea why the Samsung WMN 2000B costs so much more? Do you have any pics of your set up. Thanks.

Yup! I just returned mine after 21 days
TO be technical I exchanged mine.
So they are sending me a new TV (no charge) and when the new TV is delivered, they will take my old one back.
Hopefully the new one will not have any clouding.

Says in "Good" condition.. what exactly does that mean? will it have a warranty and is it worth buying used?..

I WOULDNT EVER consider buying this used.........

Its recommended you save the stand if possible since you may want to sell the set in a few years and the buyer might want to use the stand.
Or else in a few years other buyers of a used version of that model may need a stand since the original buyer threw his away, and then it could be sold on ebay.

You HAVE to keep your stand if you EVER Want your tv serviced. Samsung will not service your TV unless it is on the stand..................
They won't even take it off the wall for you.

Did you get a price?

That would just be 1 or two more returns to return the 60' and get the 65" from amazon. LOL!!!

No, didn't get that far, as I turned my attention to the 60". I'm still trying to decide between this and a Panasonic VT50 plasma. Two different beasts, I know, but each have their own appeal. I figure I will give the 60" ES8000 a fair trial at home, and if the family (and I) love it, I will consider upgrading to the 65". If not, the 65VT50 will be on deck. BTW I'm in Canada so the prices would likely shock you .

Stopped by the Future Shop close to work on my way home today to see how much they would bargain on a 60" ES8000. Well I got them down to $3349 + tax (so $3785 all in, free delivery), so I said "Let's write it up". This seems to be $1000 off CDN MSRP. I have until 30 days after my scheduled June 1 delivery date to cancel/return, so no risk. Can any of my fellow Canadians tell me if this is a good deal?? Or if there are better prices out there?? Y'all in the US can stop laughing now ... yes, it hurts how much we have to pay for such stuff up here .

I'd try looking around online and have it imported if you have too, that's what I did as it worked out for me to be a little cheaper than actually buying it here in Canada... I managed to even pay shipping, customs/clearance, plus 3yr warranty and still got it for less than I would if I brought just the tv alone from Future Shop Some places ship to Canada although you may be in for a headache getting everything sorted (ie calling/emailing people) and the waiting time can be dreadful, I waited almost 3 weeks from date of purchase till day of delivery Quite happy with the set though, only thing to complain about would be flashlighting in all four corners which to be honest isn't as bad as when I first got it and one stuck pixel which isn't really noticeable at 6.5ft+. May get it exchange if Samsung comes out with a revised/newer panel. My model number is TS01 btw as I'm sure most if not everyone is the same.
