Nice. How did your final settings compare to those that people typically post in this thread?

looks good. i noticed it right away that all colors now are more detailed compare to before calibrated, and the blacks now are really really black, than before blacks are washed out., especially in darker scenes . and the picture is much better to the eyes, i really like the result and it is really worth it.

Software Version 04.20.18 downloading this afternoon.

Took a little longer than usual to download.
I will be interested if anyone who downloads this update sees anything different or if I am imagining it.......
I see no menu changes or apps changes.

I've calibrated my new 7600 and just love it. I used some of the suggestions from this site.
I need some advice. Viewing animation my whites are too bright and the black isn't dark enough. The black problem is mostly on non-HD. The white problem showed up on the kids tv show "Turtles" (new version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtules). Anyone have calibrations specifically for animation? Or any other suggestions on how to tweek this? I don't really know what does what but I can follow instrustions... tongue.gif

It is true non HD has less contrast/black depth. As for the "white" problem are you sure it's not just that program?

Than guys I am now just looking at the 7600 or the Sammy 6500 I ruled out the 6700 cause its not a true 120hz panel. So anyone try a Samsung 6500 or around that that can compare visually. Ty also anyone know how a lg 7600. 55 inch weighs 55 pounds yet the Samsung 55 weighs 40 pounds. Wtf

That looks great. Does anybody know if somebody could achieve similar results by using a calibration disc on their own?

Calibration discs if you take your time do a decent job. But nothing is going to be as good as a Pro, metering, for a calibration.

Actually I have been thinking it was a possibility that it's the show. Kids shows seem to be 'extreme' in their color presentations.

I have both the 47" and the 55" LM7600's...I love them both. I've had numerous hi end tv's including a few Sony XBR's but I truly love the LG's...PQ is excellent!!! I have both of my tv's connected via OTA's and the picture quality is impeccable. Current firmware on both is 4.12.23. What i cannot figure out is why since both tv's "upgraded" to 4.12.23 about a week ago the volume of the tv speakers is literally half of what it was prior. I used to turn the volume to approx. 15 using the tv speakers and since the firmware "upgrade" i now have to turn the volume to approx. 30...The volume at that level is just a comfortable listening level...i've looked at every setting on the tv and nothing seems to make a difference...go figure

anyone else notice this?

i will soon be acquiring an av receiver and will turn the internal speakers off but i'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed this recently...thanks...btw, this forum is INVALUABLE!

I have just returned a Panasonic ST50 and picked up a LM7600, I am happy with the HD picture and have minimal bleed but all SD feeds from my cable box are so bad they are unwatchable. The ST50 looked fine but the 7600 is beyond bad. Am I missing something? Maybe a setting or maybe I should use component or composite cables for SD signals. If I can not get this rectified I will be returning this set as well and at that point I have no idea what to get.

You'll have to experiment obsessively to really find what works for you. That being said, here's what I've found as the most comfortable setting for me:
Depth = 10
Viewpoint = 0

Thx guys for explanation and i agree Depth=10 & Viewpoint=0 gives me dizzness free 3D effect but the problem is i prefer strong 3D effect and hence for that when i increase (+) my depth i start to get dizziness..... So i wanted to know how could i go beyond 10 in depth and adjust viewpoint in such a way tht its comfortable.

PS: My viewing distance 8Feet.

PS: My viewing distance 8Feet.

8 feet makes it tougher to feel less eyestrain when increasing the depth. If you can step further back while viewing, you'll see what I mean.

In my experience, if you increase the Depth to max (20), then you'll need to try that trick I mentioned about looking at the 3D image without the glasses. With the depth at 20, adjust the viewpoint in either direction until text onscreen looks as clear as possible but objects still look blurred. I can't guarantee that it will get rid of all the dizziness and eyestrain, but it's likely the best you'll be able to get while sitting closer to the screen.

Sometimes it just takes a few minutes for your eyes to adjust and get a good focus on things in 3D, but if you feel too much fatigue or headaches coming, then I'd say it's time to think about rearranging your setup so that you're not sitting so close.

I presume you've seen the Sound Setting menu with the three Volume adjustments, Low, Med, High?

If i adjust viewpoint to + ... the images jumps between blurry and non-blurry for a second ... kind of like image shifting effect. (Problem Visible with glasses & without)
Can u create same issue on your TV ?

What is the movie source? Blu-ray? DVD? downloaded movie via TV's USB input?

I ask because I sometimes get stuttering (or lag) when I watch downloaded content, usually it's .mkv files.

redlightracer, I don't have the answer to your question but I'd be interested in knowing what prompted you to return ST50 and pick LM7600. I am looking at these two as well and I can pick up a 60" ST50 for less than a 55" LM7600. Was buzzing an issue for you with ST50? I had a Samsung plasma with a bit of buzz. Thanks.

Hey folks, just wanted to pop in and let people know (if it hasn't been mentioned yet) that DirecTV remotes can be programmed using the same code (10856) to enter the engineer mode on these sets. Just program the remote like so:

http://www.ehow.com/how_8579776_make-directv-controller-control-tv.html

I also had to enter the password "0413" after hitting "3" to get to the advanced menu, although apparently it can also be "0000" sometimes:

http://openlgtv.org.ru/wiki/index.php/Access_hidden_service_menus_/_modes

This information can be used in conjunction with the previous guide on engineer mode:

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1399636/official-lg-xxlm7600-owners-thread/930#post_22236794

In any case, that saved me $20 on a RCA universal remote, so maybe it will save someone else some money, too...

Yep. I've noticed the same thing. I've messed around with the different settings in the Sound menu (Low, Med, High adjustments, EQ, Clear Voice, etc.) but it doesn't make a difference.

Well I saw this problem mostly with .mkv files like you says but I believe I notice with some blu rays too... Is that normal??

I'd be surprised if it happens during blu-rays. I wish it wouldn't happen when watching .mkv files but it looks like we now have two data points to show that it does happen, so maybe it is "normal." I swear it happens at regular time intervals. I was watching one night and started timing it. It seemed to occur every five minutes.

Try changing the TV to game mode and let us know if that helps.
