I was holding off waiting for some of the latest 2012 models but my TV just died last night.

I was interested in the LG sets because of the passive 3D and styling.

How does the LG7600 rate in terms of some of the newer 2012 LED sets out there?

Should I pull the trigger or wait until the full compliment of 2012 sets comes out this year.

In case you do pull the trigger on LG7600 ... if you are looking for 47inch then Amazon has the TV with soundbar (w/ subwoofer) and family pack of glasses for $1541.00!

http://www.amazon.com/LG-47LM7600-47...pr_product_top

Its better to add the TV only and checkout ... then call Amazon to add in the bundle for you for the same ... (reason : at the moment when you add all three - tv/soundbar/glasses and check out the price is around 1570 instead of 1540) Hope it helps!

I have my media on a NAS device specifically to avoid needing a computer to do the streaming. Currently I stream to my XBOX 360 directly from the NAS. Going directly to the TV would be nice though.

If anyone could test that would be great!

I'm streaming to my HP Mediasmart WHS and haven't had any issues. I believe it uses Twoky as the DLNA server. I've also been running Plex and the experience has been mostly favourable. If you run a Plex server, you get all of the cover art, metadata, and a few other nice features.

Hi Folks.

I picked up this little beauty on Friday night and I have now had about 10 hours with it. I will say the picture out of the box was not that great, but after tweaking it for a while and using the Picture Wizard I am very happy with what I have now.

For those that do not have a TruMotion option you will need to contact LG or whomever you purchased the set from and get a new one, as this option is available on my TV. Someone had mentioned that they already contacted LG support; I just wanted to confirm that the option is available on my 55LM7600.

I am coming from a 1080i TV, so the picture on this TV with my PS3 and the Blu-Ray disk of Casino Royale was more than I could ask for. The beginning of the movie has a ton of motion with swirling colors and a killer chase scene at a construction site. I saw no blur at all. It was smooth and flawless. I have watched this Blu-Ray many times on my other TV and all I can say is Wow. This was during the day and even with open window shades the reflection was minimal, from where I was sitting.

I was able to hook up to my network and view the content of all my devices. This includes a Windows Vista and Windows 7 PC and my EVO phone.

The online selection is vast and I was able to play with a few things. Google Earth looks awesome on this TV. I did not have the problems with Netflix that others are having but I am using a wired connection since I already had cable run for my PS3.

Someone mentioned that they saw flash lighting on the screen when they accessed the different apps, or changed the input source. I have that also but they go away right before the app or program starts, so it’s not hurting my picture at all. I’m not sure why it does it but it does. During the blackest scenes I see no flash lighting at all.

The magic remote is what it is. I don’t really have a problem with it except the arrow goes off the screen to fast for my liking and I am still looking for a setting to change that. So if you are reading something on the screen or trying to figure out which app to select if you don’t move the remote for 5(?) seconds it goes off and you have to shake it again to get it back on. Other than that, I like it. Way easier to navigate around the menus than up up up, left left left left. Plus the scrolling wheel makes the navigation a breeze, especially when you are going through 1000’s of pictures or music from your PC or phone.

The sound from the TV is fine for 10 watt tiny speakers. The sound bar helps a ton. I don’t have a receiver that can handle the TV yet, so I was unable to try out surround and all that good stuff.

I was able to try out the 3D and it looks great. I really haven’t tweaked the settings or played around with it much, but out of the box it looks good. And with the passive system you can actually lie down and watch it, try that all you active 3D people. Of course the glasses are light weight like the theater glasses and I didn’t have any problems in the hour I was watching it. The 2D to 3D conversion seems to work well. I didn’t see any ghosting or other anomalies while watching.

I was able to find the correct codes for my Xfinity (Comcast) remote control, so I can change the input source and move through all the TV settings without having to use the magic remote. Of course it is easier to navigate with the Magic Remote.

The sound bar does turn on and off with the TV, which is nice, but you can only control the volume with the remote that came with the bar. I have not tried to input the codes into my Comcast remote yet. On a side note the sound bar is blue tooth so I can stream music from my phone over it. Kinda cool.

I watched Hanna from the HD Cable source in the dark and I still couldn’t see any flash lighting or problems with the set.

For me this was a great purchase and I’m very happy with the set overall.

Pictures taken with my EVO, so not great.

Post any questions and I will see if I can give you an answer.

Yeah that was me. BB is delivering the next 7600 that's available. They're all sold out in my area.

Care to list your settings?

I just used the setting from this thread.

http://www.televisioninfo.com/conten...alibration.htm

I still seem to tweak it depending on the different input sources.

I am gong to try some gamming tonight and see how that goes.

No, I don't have Amazon Instant Video either. I'm thinking it went away for the 2012 models.

Sorry Bob,
I don't know what an Amazon Instant Video is? I don't see it in the www.lgapptv.com area either

had the 7600 for a week now and its a phenomenal set.
The only issue I see so far is bad flashlights coming from the upper right and lower left.
The only time I really see it is on the LG splash screen and a little bit during all black scenes.
Of course you wont notice it during regular viewing content.

But every time I switch inputs or turn it on it reminds me of the issue.
I went to 2 best buys where the 7600 was on display and I didnt see this at all on either set. I even messed around to verify their settings were close to the same as mine.
Not sure if anyone else is getting this. Is this normal on an edge lit LED?

Ive attached a rough pic. The upper right one is the worst.
Ill try to get a better pic.Took this in the day time so theres some reflection.

Does this vary by set? Ill probably call LG tomorrow. BB said they would replace it if I wanted to try another set.

I would try another set. When I look at that same screen (no input) I do not see anything at all like that. As I stated above I do see some flash lighting when changing input selections, but it goes away before the content starts.

My set does that as well, but only when launching apps (and maybe when it's starting up). Under normal tv viewing (even if there's a black screen), I don't see anything like that.

I just ordered the 7600, now I need to buy some necessary cables. Can someone describe how the power cord connects? The only picture I can find shows a non-removable power cord. Can someone confirm that's the case or if it's the standard PC removable power cord? Also, if it's non-removable, how long is it? Thanks

None removable, about 5 foot long. Enjoy your new toy. If you find you don't like the picture out of the box, don't fret. I almost returned it until I got the Disney WOW calibration disc.

Does the 7600 do proper 5:5 pulldown? I know all of last year's LG sets did and they advertised it as their Real Cinema feature. Maybe native 1080p24 is just considered standard these days.....?

I think that is a good place to check and see if your having flashlight problems.

So, I just chatted with Amazon and I am going to exchange it.

Got my 47inch today and the initial impressions were amazing. I am coming from a LCD rear-projection second hand tv .... so this is a huge upgrade for me. I liked the user interface and the magic remote ... it's very handy (This model came with only the magic remote and no regular remote, like prev year model LW6500)

Few observations :

- Plex Media server did not work for me. TV does not recognize the plex server to play media off of my Mac wirelessly. Two possible explanations -- a) My router might not have multicast enabled which apparently is needed for this media server (I have Actiontec PK5000z modem) (b) Maybe my firewall is blocking any incoming connections, need to check that.

- I am happy to inform that the lag was not evident from today's Xbox live gameplay I did. I played 3-4 games of Halo Reach and I did not experience any lag. Next, I fired up Gears of War3 and played the regular single player missions and it was pretty smooth. (All of this was done with video set to "Game mode" and I labeled the input to "PC" dont know if that matters) (also previously, I used to play online on a CRT tv with zero lag)

- 3D looks amazing ... I played the 3D clips from the LG store and I also played an animation movie from Netflix and converted the 2D to 3D and it looks pretty awesome

- I have two harddrives with media files. One is NTFS and other is FAT32 formatted. I was able to play media from my FAT32 harddrive, but my NTFS drive was not recognized by the TV! ... Problem with FAT32 is that I cannot transfer files over 4GB onto it from my Mac! So I'm stuck with a bunch of MKV files on my NTFS hdd that I cannot play on the TV. If someone can shed some light on this that would be great!

I'll be posting more impressions later this week when I have enough time to spend with this tv. If someone wants me to check out some functionality feel free to post in this thread and I can take a look at it for you.

Peace!

Ok so Best Buy is shipping me my 55LM7600 ver 3.0 on Saturday.

Hopefully, this third set will not have HDMI port issues, flashlighting, nor missing Tru Motion menu options...

Fingers crossed as I love this TV!!!!

Okay guys. I just purchased the Lg 55LM7600. I am coming from a TV that I loved, the Sony 55NX810 but I was robbed last week and they took my TV so I Purchased this one.

Here is my problem. I love the TV including the 3d, features, look of the TV etc.. However, I am not impressed with the picture right now. Maybe it is because I had such a great tweaked picture on my Sony. I know if I can just find the right settings for this LG I will be happy. I don't want to return it within the 30 days.

I am thinking about purchasing the calibration service which I have never done before but this just seems expensive to me and I can't be sure that the BB tech will have the tools to do anything more than I can do.

I have seen the various settings placed in this formum but they don't seem to work for me. I Thought i Had some better settings that I found for a similar LG TV with a complete list of settings for the white balance settings and color management. I tried it but it still doesn't look right to me ( to much yellowish tint )

Does anyone have a complete set of settings that works for them? Can you share them.

Has anyone used a professional Calibration service before, including BB's. Is it worth it? ( 250 plus tax)

I dont' think the calibration disks out there do more then set the brightness, contrast color temp. Not sure this would help.

What settings are you guys using? Do you just use the vivid or standard as programed?

Any help would be appreciated.

from what I understand the 8600 has a dual core processor and also has the silver/chrome bezel of the 6700

There are 4 differences that I know of:

1. Dual core chip for smoother smart TV.

2. Voice control through a mic on the remote

3. Better PQ through software.

4. Slightly different design.

The big jump in PQ comes with the higher LM9600 with nano LED dimming.
