Okay guys. I just purchased the Lg 55LM7600. I am coming from a TV that I loved, the Sony 55NX810 but I was robbed last week and they took my TV so I Purchased this one.

Here is my problem. I love the TV including the 3d, features, look of the TV etc.. However, I am not impressed with the picture right now. Maybe it is because I had such a great tweaked picture on my Sony. I know if I can just find the right settings for this LG I will be happy. I don't want to return it within the 30 days.

I am thinking about purchasing the calibration service which I have never done before but this just seems expensive to me and I can't be sure that the BB tech will have the tools to do anything more than I can do.

I have seen the various settings placed in this formum but they don't seem to work for me. I Thought i Had some better settings that I found for a similar LG TV with a complete list of settings for the white balance settings and color management. I tried it but it still doesn't look right to me ( to much yellowish tint )

Does anyone have a complete set of settings that works for them? Can you share them.

Has anyone used a professional Calibration service before, including BB's. Is it worth it? ( 250 plus tax)

I dont' think the calibration disks out there do more then set the brightness, contrast color temp. Not sure this would help.

What settings are you guys using? Do you just use the vivid or standard as programed?

Any help would be appreciated.

I bought the set the day it came out. Had it for a week and returned it. I wanted to like the tv cuz it was beautiful but like you I could not get any settings that I was happy with. I was pissed. I really wanted the Samsung D7000 series but too expensive and too many problems with flash lighting and clouding. When the D8000 went on sale for $1800 I figured I would take a chance on it. I love this tv. Knock on wood, barely any flash lighting and uniformity looks pretty good. The only issue I have is the judder/studder on fast motion scenes. I guess there is a software issue with AutoMotion plus that Samsung refuses to acknowledge. My setting have made it barely noticeable and I am very happy with this tv. I still need to do some tweaking but so far so good

Typically a Color Temp that is too warm will cause a yellowish tint. Try playing with that setting.

Very interested to see if the replacement sets have the same flashing. Now that I've got mine up on the wall, I'm noticing more light leaking in the lower left and upper right. It's borderline acceptable.

Im in the same boat. Im eventually gonna take it back to BB for a new set. Ive already talked to them about it. Id like to try it out at the store before I take it home. The set is too expensive to live with flashlights in the corners. Funny how it seems to always be those 2 corners.

Strange that the 2 Ive seen on display had absolutely no flashlighting. My skeptical side is wondering if they do this on purpose...

I've been keeping local dimming on high as it helps a bit, but unfortunately there's still more than enough light bleeding even with it enabled.

BB calibration service is not the best you can do for the money. You could do nearly as well by downloading the AVS HD 709 discs that are free on this forum and doing it yourself. The best way to spend your calibrating dollars is to contact someone from this forum as well.

You can locate a calibrator and find the AVS 709 thread here:

Not true. The tru motion settings can be turned on or off. If your set doesn't have the option in the "Picture Options" menu, you will need to get a replacement. My replacement set for this problem is coming on Saturday.

In what might be the best possible example of bad timing, after weeks of deliberation and lurking in these LED threads, I purchased a 55lm7600 for our living room. The bad timing? It was delivered this morning but there are some furniture concerns, and the updated wiring doesn't get installed until April 11th, so it will rest in its box until at least next weekend. No unboxing video here yet, but at least these can taunt me until unboxing/install.

I'll lurk no more and can't wait to actually comment on the tv (and soundbar) soon.

Hi all,

Spent couple of days with this TV and so far it has been great! I'm calibrating my TV with few Blurays, got a few questions :

If anybody can shed some light on the usefulness and usage conditions for the following settings that would be great :
Dynamic Contrast (Right now I have it set as OFF ... the colors seem just a tiny bit artificial with this being ON, but in a good way)
LED Local Dimming (Right now set at LOW ... I'm happy with what I see, how do you guys adjust it and in what conditions ? )
Backlight (I have it set at 50 ... but from other members posts I see that they set it at 100 ... maybe for a bright room perhaps)

Also note that the settings I mentioned are for a dark room

To get the best blacks and contrast set it as low as possible and then adjust the contrast to brighten the image and the brightness to further adjust the blacks and for better shadow details.

Help this old guy out. I have my 7600 set for about 3 weeks. Happy with it, sound bar just OK. Want to use my old Sony Surround (SV1) which only has RCA connection. I hope I did the right thing. I ordered from Ebay an optical converter to analog RCA out and and optical splitter to feed my sound bar and Sony surround through the converter. This is so I can use either the bar or the surround. Hope this makes sense.

It definitely won't be sitting there a full 2 weeks. I'm hoping to have a new cabinet as early as tonight so I can set up the tv on its stand for a few weeks before the electrical updates are complete and the mount installed.

The only thing helping my patience in this case is the fact that work isn't allowing free time to set things up. :-)

Hi everybody,

Seen alot of talk about not being able to adjust tru motion settings. I just unboxed my 7600 tonight and can confirm that i'm able to adjust tru motion settings in picture options as follows:

1. clear plus
2. clear
3. smooth
4. off
5. user defined

Really glad this option is available. Clear plus is pretty overwhelming!!

Just mounted my third set. I can now happily say this is the tv I've been wanting. No issues with:

1) HDMI
2) Flashlighting
3) Tru Motion settings

I am one happy LG 557600 owner!!

well broke down today and bought this tv. hhgregg gave me a pretty sweet deal and it was last day for free sound bar as well.

Right now loving it! The 3d depth and 3d viewport settings make for some really nice depth and pop 3d and that viewport setting makes the 2d-3d conversion realllly nice by separating the conversion images more. I watched Resident Evil afterlife 3d earlier, what a terrible movie but 3d on it was ok. Also took quick look at tron 3d and avatar 3d and pretty impressed. Watching women's snowboardng on directv 3d now.

overall though loving the tv, and the sound bar isn't bad at all was actually surprised by the bass the wireless sub puts out... especially for free. This isn't our theater tv anyways (projector for that unless it's 3d content) so sound bar does just fine for living room and gets quite loud too.

Has anyone had their LM7600 professionally calibrated yet? I am curious if the calibration results are stored as new picture modes. I currently have 7 modes: 1. Intelligent Sensor 2. Vivid 3. Cinema 4. Standard(User) 5. Game 6. Expert 1 and 7. Expert 2. So, do the professional settings get stored under the two Expert modes or are new modes "unlocked"? I've read in the forums here that the professional calibrators have special access to settings I don't and that they lock the settings so I can't change them. I'm not sure I'd like to give up my 2 Expert modes since those have settings the others don't. I'd like to hear from anyone who has had this model professionally calibrated. Thanks.

Still trying to tweak this picture but still not happy. I may purchase a calibration disk or just get the professional service.

I do have a couple of questions I am hoping someone can answer:

1) When I highlight the information screen on top it says 60hz. Should this say 240hz? Does the 60hz just refer to the signal coming in and that will always be 60hz and not 240hz?

2) I saw some comments that one of the reasons they purchased this TV was the ability to adjust the refresh rate. What are they referring too? Are they referring to the fact you can adjust the True Motion between the different settings or is there some way to adjust the refresh rate between 60 and 240hz?

3) I also saw a comment that someone loved the "Clear Plus" setting in the True Motion settings. When I use this setting all it seems to do it make the picture very dim and I do not notice any difference in picture quality. In fact, I don't notice a difference in picture quality between any of the True Motion settings. I had a Sony before I purchased this TV and when I toggled with that TV's motion settings it made an immediate impact where you really noticed a difference. How do I know if my True Motion is working on this TV? How do I know if I am getting 240hz?

Thanks
