Well since I can't find out how to do a full factory reset or if I can rollback the FW safely or if I can flash it again, I'm calling LG service to complain. This in hope that I can add my name to the list of people with problems with V4.31.43.
Maybe they'll fix it and update us again with a working FW.

Smart boys. I do the same for my 360. I know it's pretty picky, but I also only use a wired controller....

Can you post an image of yours with 100% backlight and localdimming off to see which technique is better for yours?

Good way to handle it. Either it's widespread and a fix will be made, or it's only a few and they will replace/fix yours as needed. The more who let LG know the quicker it will be addressed.

I can try to post an image later tonight or perhaps tomorrow. The room needs to be semi-darkened and it's daylight right now. The last time I tried to do so, my camera was unable to adequately show the flashlighting.

I'm not understanding you when you say, "to see which technique is better for yours". Is there more than one technique that you use to adjust the bezel? Or a combination of bezel adjustment and picture settings?

Well, i found two ways to treat for flashlights and clouding. One way for FL and other for clouding. No picture settings are involved.

I was able to pick a 47LM7600 for about 900+tax once Best buy matched Alltimetv. Will arrive Monday hopefully it's a later manufacturing date. Which seem to have fewer quality control issues than the early models.

I hear reports of this kind of thing, and I'm amazed. I thought "alltimetv" was internet-only. And they're not on the list of internet-only vendors they'll price-match with.

It all comes down to how savy the sales guy is that is working at the moment. I doubt that the folks on the phone would have done this!

You need to gently press the screen in the lower right and left corners of your tv. you will feel a little snap but it will fix the clouding in the corners and greatly improve your picture.

I'm very impressed by the settings listed in the FlatpanelsHD review. My experience over the years has been that transferring settings from someone else's review or calibration doesn't usually work well, however, I tried the settings listed for the LM7600 and the colors look wonderful. I've had a number of ISF calibrations performed on my TVs over the years and am familiar with what a professionally calibrated picture is supposed to look like. I'm especially familiar with the Demonstration scenes on the Digital Video Essentials HD Basics Blu-ray disc. After using the FlatpanelsHD settings the colors look very natural, the way I remember them looking on my calibrated sets. The only changes I made were to bump up the backlight to 50, turn the sharpness down to 20 and turn LED Local Dimming to Low. Of course I'm going from memory and according to my preferences. I don't have equipment to measure the settings. I really like what I see, though!

Just swapped out my week-old 55 LM6700 for the 55 LM7600. So far so good, although I need to tweak the 3D settings based on the free content on the main menu.

Funny story. - when we swapped the 6700, the Best Buy Customer Service agent tried to tell me that the set came with 2 remotes - the magic and a standard remote. I tried to convince him that it did not. I think he felt I was trying to put one past him.

By the way - I hate the magic remote and am thrilled that my Harmony 650 has the codes for the 7600 which include the home button. The 6700 harmony scheme did not have that option.

I bought the 6700 at Best Buy with a price match from Amazon - $1165 - originally $1399. My 7600 was originally $1499 at Best Buy and I price matched again for $1399. Also got the 5 year warranty. Since I am a silver premier card member I qualify for a free calibration after 200 hours.

Thanks to this forum I have tweaked the picture settings per the kind posters here. I do have light leak but I will learn to ignore it.

Thank you again for all the great messages here.

Love my 55" 7600. I had the rebooting issue caused by Plex. I even took my TV back and got a new one because I freaked out.
But later figured it out.

I'm scared to start tweaking and tinkering with the settings because everything is working great with its integration with my home network. It sees everything without issues.

My only gripes come with the remote...

1) As soon as the remote moves the arrow appears on the screen and gets in the way of the picture. Who doesn't accidentally drop, move, or toss the remote around while they're watching tv. Very annoying. I looked but didn't see a way to complete turn off the arrow/pointer. I only saw calibration and speed settings.

2) In order to switch inputs you have to go to a menu, and then select the input. This is the 1st TV I have ever seen, that didnt have an input switch button physically on the remote.

I highly suggest you get a harmony remote - I have the 650. I put the magic remote in a drawer and hopefully won't have any further need. No annoying arrows for me!

The regular LG remote will work......but if you're running the audio through a separate receiver ( non LG ), you still need another remote

Ok people... tough decision time here.

Because of panel issues with my 7600 set i have three options.

1) Return it for a full refund.

2) Exchange it for a brand new 55LM7600.

3) Upgrade to the 55LM8600 for about $184 extra.

Which route should i take? I am seriously considering upgrading... i really do like the 7600 but that's not too much extra for the dual core processor upgrade.

Arghhhh

Help! haha

I posted a few days back about my LM7600 edge bleed and whether or not I would take the set back. Returned from a weekend trip today, and put in a DVD with black bars top and bottom. Edge bleed was very evident and annoying.

So, I boxed it up and took it back to Frys tonight for an exchange. No questions, very easy. I noted the following:

1. Demo set did not exhibit the same level of bleed as my new set, but the demo set also has 3450 hours on it, so it's been there since the TV's release.
2. My set, which I returned due to the edge bleed, was inventoried and a new price tag was placed on it and it appeared they were going to put it on the floor as an open box unit at $1424, despite my returning it as defective......hmmmm.
3. The LM7600 is back up to $1499 now, so the 2-week run at $1199 has ended.
4. 55" Google TV version is at $1299 this week. 55G2 I think.

Now I just set up the new set, and as one of you suggested.....I think it's worse than the TV I just returned. Great picture, but with black bars or on very dark screens, the bleeding is very evident. Both of these units were November 2012 builds. I probably should have suggested they look for a different month at least. Might have had a better shot at a good one from a different time period.

So, now I am confronted with another decision. I can exchange again I suppose, and have them search for a serial number that would indicate a build month other than November. I was REALLY hoping that this 7600 would be a great set. Or, I can get a refund and head over to Costco and pick up the LM6700 for $999. Next set down. TruMotion 120 instead of 240. I'm concerned about sports and gaming on the slower set, and obviously I might have the same issues on the 6700 as far as bleed.

I want passive 3D, in order to be able to use the Dual Play feature for gaming, and that basically leaves me with LG and Vizio. The current Panasonics with passive 3D are not that great to me. Plus, I don't have a budget to wait for a 2013 model. Need a 2012 on closeout pricing.

Here's a question....any of you that have sets displaying no or only minimal edge bleed.....what is the build month of your set? Shipping might have more to do with this problem, but then again maybe there's something to getting a different lot or batch....I'm just looking for any solution. Since I only paid $1199 for this set, the upgrade fee for me to get the 8600 would be $400, which is too much for me.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Most reviews for the 8600/860T have not been favorable if you game at all, Input lag measuring over 100ms.

Has there been any confirmation as to the status of Amazon Instant Video being released on the app store for the LM7600? Some people's firmware's had it, some did not. So confusing!

I would give the LM7600 one more try. The LM8600 doesn't sound to be worth the extra $400, certainly based on the review televisioninfo.com gives it. In this review, which was posted on Feb. 15,2013, they give the set a poor rating for both motion performance and screen uniformity. The LM6700 though claimed to have 120Hz Trumotion by LG is by all accounts only a 60Hz panel with a crippled Trumotion feature. If you like using the fully implemented Trumotion feature on your 7600 you will definitely be disappointed with the 6700.

Whose TV's firmware has it? Do you have a link to people's reports or are you guessing? The only way I've heard of this happening is to fool the TV into a kind of engineering mode. Scroll backwards in this thread aways or do the search: Tampa8 had done fantastic extensive work on that very question.

Regarding edge bleed, my 7600 has a small amount of it too. Mostly top right and some top left. But you know what, I only notice it when the screen is black and when I'm actually looking for it. Most of the time, when watching tv, people focus on the middle of the screen and anything around the perimeter is far less noticable. So, I think its an issue I can live with.

The thing with any LCD or Plasma there's always a compromise. Since I only notice it when looking for it and on black screens then so be it. There's bigger issues with other sets out there.

Maybe they'll fix it and update us again with a working FW.

Good way to handle it. Either it's widespread and a fix will be made, or it's only a few and they will replace/fix yours as needed. The more who let LG know the quicker it will be addressed.

Well I did call and they walked me through a full reset. It seems to have helped but NOT resolved the problem.
Yes..if you have the same problem please call LG and complain as this is the only way they have of knowing the problem exists. I just can't figure out what it is EXACTLY I do that sets the condition for this to happen. Initally it would do it the very first time you viewed a video or photo after switching from HDMI 1 (where my AT&T U-Verse box is). Now, after the reset, it seems pretty random. Ah well, such is life. But please report to LG if you are having the same issue.
