Hello all,

I am planning to purchase a 55" 3D HDTV in the near future and have short listed the following two options:

1) Samsung ES6500 (the 6-series one with micro dimming - its called ES6800 here in Dubai)
2) LG LM7600
3) Sony HX850 / HX 853

I have been reading reviews over the internet and am totally confused with which on to go for. My primary requirments are:

1) Blacks as deep as possible
2) Will be used for TV (SD+HD), Movies, Sports & rarely Games.
3) TV will be used with room lights on, only sometimes the lights will be dim/off.
4) 3D - though I'll only use it sometimes and probably for small durations.
5) Viewing distance is not a concern since 55" suits my needs perfectly.
6) Budget circa $2,600 (I live in Dubai, UAE so this is just an estimate)

Please can someone provide some insight on which set is better for my requirements? Perhaps there may be a better option?

Aprpeciate your help.

Thanks.

EDIT: Added Sony HX850 / HX853 to the list!

Thanks for the link.

Unfortunately they havent reviewed the Samsung 6-series which I believe uses a different panel than the 8 series.

Any more insight?

Thanks.

Sony HX850 / HX853 is the best choice (by far) in concern of blacks/contrast and 2d mode!
Samsung usually is 2nd (in 2d mode) and then comes the LG with her panels (which have average black levels and contrast primarily due their ips panels tech).
When it comes to smart tv/media players Samsung has the lead, with LG coming 2nd in media player and 3nd in smart TV options (SONY has a bad build in media player).

Now when it comes to 3d things change drammaticaly with LG LM6700 be in the lead (by far too!) due to LG's Passive 3d tech which is relaxing and free of flicker. Sony and samsung both use active 3d tech which can be very eye stressing but on the other hand they can provide Full HD 3d. Anyway when it comes to 3d the best is to check them yourself to find the one that suits your needs better (although most prefer passive 3d when it comes to 3d alone).

Conclusion:
1) You want the best 2d TV which may be used occasionally to view some 3d content: Choice is SONY!
2) You want the best 3d tv (to view much content in 3d) and average 2d choose LG.
Samsung is somewhere in the middle proving good 2d and average 3d (better than SONY's though).

I hope i have helped !
