I am currently having a problem with my new samsung EH5000. The screen is very impressive but there is one problem I am having MOTION BLUR frown.gif on fast moving scenes and also playing on the xbox 360 playing FPS games and fifa 12. Is there a setting I am missing that can help reduce or completely clear this poor handling of motion?

Thanks

I have this exact TV.... Just received it and I too am searching for the optimal settings. No one seems to be forward enough to share theirs, so I've been playing with other settings near the model...I like these..

Yeah there for the 6000 and I am asking if there is such a setting that works to clear the bad motion handling or if it's something I will have to live with not after picture settings dude

well you got to remember that you have a 60hz tv. that was the main drawback of the eh5000 series. i saw this at costco for $589 for the un40eh5050, but i decided to get the 6000 series instead b/c of the 120hz.

Should not really matter that it's 60hz could still control motion better

You know, turning on game mode removes all the TV's processing, this very well can be a contributing factor.
Unless you're playing a game that requires game mode, you really should disable it.
Posted settings for the ES8000 yesterday, along with detailed reasons.[=www.avsforum.com/t/1399319/official-samsung-unxxes8000-thread/1050#post_22115441][/]

So even though I am gaming on the xbox 360 I should turn " Game mode " off then?

I thought turning game mode on would help reduce the bad motion handling in games

Plus I also thought having Game mode on would reduce input lag?

It will only help input lag, but will make the picture look pretty terrible. You'll find most games won't require game mode. COD, and such, might, but only turn it on if you notice the lag.

what kind of LCD panel do you have? look for the panel version code on right side of TV (two letters followed by two digits) to find out

*VA panels in general have such issues (ghosting/blurring/smearing of dark areas especially)

not an issue with IPS panels, though, like those on LG and Panasonic LCDs

no, look for a sticker on the right side of the panel or back of the panel that has code like AA02, SQO1, SS02, etc

it should be labeled "version"

True, VA panels have this issue but so far I havent seen a scenario that is a deal breaker! Whats bothering me is the relatively low viewing angles on VA panels.. if you look at the TV in a mall your almost fooled into thinking that its viewing angle is like an IPS but its pretty close to TN. All in all im still very happy with the purchase as my primary PC monitor, hopefully LG releases something similar with an IPS panel+direct LED+full PC mode support and at a similar price range.. I would upgrade to that!

the internet update feature doesn't always work so just download the file from the Samsung site to a USB drive and use that to update to the latest version

try another sample of your model if you can get a different panel version or just go for the 6000 series

it may not be blur free, but according to CR.org, it will show good motion performance (which is considerably better than the fair rating 60HZ sets get)

I just looked at mine. It would have been where yours says "version". See mine says TS01. So right under model #, it juts says 01? There are no letters at all? If you are still within your return policy why not try the same set just a replacement? I mean mine has lag, not terribad but not good. Like when a head is moving around I see the shades of it as it moves. But it's not super noticable 100% of the time. If yours is not much worse than that, then I'd say it's about normal for this set.
