Have you called Sharp? When did you buy your set? If you registered it on the aquos advantage website, you get an additional 3 months of warranty coverage. Someone needs to take a look at your panel.

I bought it in December it is still under warranty and I did go and get the 3 extra months. I am guessing that this is not good. Also given how difficult it is to fix LCDs I am guessing Sharp may be on the hook for a new TV. Anyone have any similar problems with theirs?

Just call Sharp. Many have said their customer service is excellent.

Called the Aquos line last night and they had me run through different inputs to ensure that it was not the cable, which is the first thing that I did also. They aplogized and had me fax in my invoice for proof of purchase and said they will contact me within 3 days for a resolution. I am eagerly anticipating the resolution.

My 2007 imac screen developed a thin vertical line about two years ago. Now, it's up to nine lines. I expect a tenth to be forming within the next few months. wink.gif The line starts out as as rather flickery, but then stabilizes within a day or so to a solid line one pixel wide. Four of the lines are light blue, three are yellow and two are purple. It looks like an atomic emission spectrograph. smile.gif Anyways, not sure what causes this. Good luck with the replacement!

I just spoke with the Sharp techs and they are offering the 847u model but the catch is that it is a re-furbished model. I asked why a re-furb. The resonse was that because of how old the TV is, a re-furb is what I will get. I responded that I bought the TV at the end of December 2011 and have had it for a little more than 7 months, that is considered old. He said he would refer it to the Manager to review the case. I also asked about the warranty on the TV that I will receive if it is extended or 12 new months or from the dat of the original purchase, he said from the original purchase. Something doesn't sound right here, thoughts anyone?

Don't settle for an edge lit 847 when your 732 was full array. If they won't budge on than, then demand the refurb 80 inch over the 70 inch. And yes, your warranty should start when you get replacement. In other words, another 12 months.

I am going to assume you are being sarcastic on demanding a 80". Besides the cabinet that I had custom made does not fit a 80".

Not being sarcastic. No way you should accept a 70 inch edge lit as a replacement for a 70 inch full array. No matter if it is new or refurbed when you current tv is 7 months old. Since your cabinet is custom made, then obviously the 80 inch is not even a solution. Set your demands as high as possible, so that your outcome will be better. Heck, I would ask for a 70 inch Elite refurb to begin with. You won't get it, but they are going to have to make a much better offer than what they have.

My 60-835 did the same thing about six weeks ago, been waiting for the 70-le847 to come back in stock. Not sure why they offered you a refurb, I got the 70 upgrade for a great deal, though mine was only 3 months old when I got the line.
