I am looking for a flat panel (open to all technologies) that has a built in time limit feature to control the amount of time the TV is on.

Any suggestions?

My new Sharp LC-60LE640U has that and so does my Dish Network Vip722 satellite receiver. BUT if you’re looking for something that will prevent your kids from just turning it back on… I don’t know any TV's that would do that. Maybe the Parental controls features will have that in its settings? Also you can buy wall outlet times that can bet programed to turn on/off at set times.

Yeah, I've never seen a TV with that feature. It's likely your only solution is to get a timer power plug to control when the tv gets power .

My Sharp has a ‘3hr turn-off if no operations detected’ option. It also has a ‘Game Timer’ that displays elapsed time every 30min when in ‘Game’ mode.
