I purchased this 47" Panasonic this weekend after my 17 year old Sony XBR gave up the ghost. I have only started playing with the settings, and the picture is great, with one exception: Sometimes dark areas of a scene are dark green instead of dark gray or black.

Right now the set is connected to my standard definition DirecTV R-10 satellite receiver through composite inputs. I've also tried Netfilx, but I don't remember whether I saw the same dark scene effect.

My question is whether there is a setting that can make this go away, or is this just the nature of an inexpensive panel? Or could it be my DirecTV receiver and/or composite inputs?

Thanks for your input.

I have this set and have not experienced this green effect you're referring to. All my equipment (Xbox 360 and PS3) is connected via HDMI along with a regular coaxial cable for TV. I also have Netflix along with Amazon Prime and with both I have not noticed this green effect.
